Abstract
THE DESCRIPTION OF STRESS LEVELS IN ELDERLY HYPERTENSION IN THE KERAMAS VILLAGE WORKING AREA UPTD PUBLIC HEALTH CENTER BLAHBATUH I IN 2021 ABSTRACT The elderly has experience that will changes their physical, psychological and social conditions that interact with another one. Physical changes that occur in the elderly are physical diseases. One of the physical diseases that often affects the elderly is hypertension. The factors that influence the occurrence of hypertension include controllable factors such as stress. Stress is a condition which is the produces more adrenaliln hormones. The hormone adrenaline will increase during stress, and resulted in the heart pumping blood more faster, so that blood pressure increases. The goal is to know the description of the stress levels in elderly hypertension in the Keramas Village Working Area UPTD Public Health Center Blahbatuh I. The sampling techniques used is a type of non probability sampling which is purposive sampling with 52 respondent. The data collection tool used is DASS (Depression Anxiety Stress) 42, with 14 statements. The results showed that most of the respondents as many as 25 people (47.2%) were age 60-74 years old. The highest percentage by gender as many as 37 female (69.8%). The description of the stress level of respondents obtained results most experienced is a mild stress levels, as many as 22 people (41,5%). Keywords: Elderly, Level of Stress, Hypertension
