Abstract
DESCRIPTION OF SELF – REJECTION (DENIAL) IN PATIENT WITH STROKE DISEASE AT KLUNGKUNG HOSPITAL IN 2021 ABSTRACT Stroke is a syndrome caused by Brain Circulatory Disorders (GPDO). The impact of stroke can be the form of physical or psychological impacts. Physical impacts such as limb weakness, paralysis, disruption of body balance, difficulty swallowing while the psychological impact that is felt anxiety, shock, anger, depression and self-rejection of the conditions experienced. This study aims to determine self-rejection (Denial) in patients with stroke at Klungkung Hospital in 2021. This research uses descriptive research. Descriptive research is study that has the objective accurately describing or describing certain events, symptoms or characteristics of individuals or groups. The research design used was survey with cross sectional approach. The sampling technique used in this study was purposive sampling with 37 respondents. The instrument in study was the Illness Denial Questionnaire (IDQ). The results of this study indicate that out of 37 respondents, 2 respondents (5.4%) experienced self-rejection (Denial) with low category, 25 respondents (67.6%) in medium category and 10 respondents (27.0%) with the high category. From these results it can be concluded that most of the respondents experienced self - rejection (Denial) in the medium category. Key words : Denial, Stroke
