Abstract
The elderly are immunocompromised so they are susceptible to fungal infections, especially Candida . This study aims to isolate and identify the Candida in elderly urine samples in the village of Kedewatan. This research was conducted in a descriptive, sampling technique by using purposive sampling. Urine samples were cultured on SDA media. Growing colonies were identified microscopically and germ tube tested. The identification results showed from 16 urine samples, 2 (12.5%) were positive for Candida non albicans with Colonies growing on SDA media, yellowish white, round, smooth, shiny and yeasty. On microscopic examination found a blastospora The percentage value indicates the occurrence of the fungus Candida non albicans in elderly urine in the village of Kedewatan so hopefully the elderly always maintain personal hygiene and routinely conduct microbiological examinations.
