Abstract

Knowledge is the result of knowing and it happens after people conducting imaging of a specific object. Sensing occurs through human senses, that is the sense of sight, the hearing, smelling, flavour and felling. Much of human knowledge is acquired through the eyes and ears. Dental caries are the most common toothache in the community that is an infection caused by demineralization of the email and dentin which are closely linked to the consumption of carotene foods. The purpose of this study is to know the description of knowledge of dental and oral health and permanent tooth caries in grade IV and V students of SDN 3 Sesetan South Denpasar. The study is a descriptive study that uses total population amount 17 students. Result from the study in students grade IV and V students of SDN 3 Sesetan South Denpasar acquired the average level of knowledge about dental and oral hygiene is 62,35 with sufficient criteria. Average permanent tooth caries in students grade IV and V students of SDN 3 Sesetan South Denpasar is 0,58. The conclusion of this study is level of knowledge about dental and oral hygiene the highest in students grade IV and V students of SDN 3 Sesetan South Denpasar is 5 students with sufficient criteria. Acquired the average level of knowledge about dental and oral hygiene is 62,35 with sufficient criteria. Tooth caries in students grade IV and V SDN 3 Sesetan South Denpasar is (35,29%). Average permanent tooth caries in students grade IV and V students of SDN 3 Sesetan South Denpasar is 0,58
