Abstract
Knowledge is the result of human sensing, or the result of one’s knowing about objects through their senses (eyes, nose, ears and so on). Children aged 9-12 years have poor oral health knowledge so that it can interfere with oral health such as dental caries. The purpose of this study was to determine the level of knowledge knowledge about the maintenance of oral health an dental caries in 2019 (study conducted on grade III students of SDN 13 Sesetan). This research is a descriptive study with 15 respondents. The data collected was analyzed univariate statistically in the form of percentages and averages. The results of the study showed that the percentage of level of knowledge with good catagory of 1 person (6,67%), enough catagories of 8 people (53,33%), catagories of less 6 people (40%). The highest percentage is in the sufficient category. The average level of knowledge about maintaining oral health is 56,664 with sufficient catagories. The percentage of studens who experience caries is 15 people (100%). The average dental caries of grade III students of SDN 13 Sesetan in 2019 is 6,06 with a high category. It can be concluded that grade III students of SDN 13 Sesetan in 2019 have an average level of knowledge of 56,664 with sufficient catagories. The average dental caries is 6,06 with a high category. It is recommended to do dental fillings or tooth extraction for students who experience dental caries and the nearest health center in order to conduct counseling programs to increase student knowledge.
