Abstract
Hygiene of the teeth and mouth is the health of the teeth in the oral cavity in a clean condition free of plaque and other impurities above the tooth surface such as debris and food scraps. Knowledge is the result of knowing, and this senses a certain object. The purpose of this study was to determine the level of knowledge about dental and oral health and OHI-S in class III and IV students at Tegallalang Elementary School 4 Tegallalang. This type of research is a descriptive study. Descriptive research is research conducted with the main purpose of making a description or description of a situation objectively. This research was conducted at Elementary School 4 Tegallalang, Tegallalang District, Gianyar Regency in May 2019, with 55 students as respondents. The level of knowledge very good criteria of 1.82%, with good criteria of 3.64%, with sufficient criteria of 18.18%, with less criteria of 21.82%, and failure criteria of 54.54%. The average value of the level of student knowledge is 47.64 including the failure criteria. The percentage of OHIS values is 50.91% with good criteria, with medium criteria of 43.64%, and bad criteria of 5.45%. The average value of OHI-S is equal to 1.43 with the criteria being. The conclusion of this study is that most elementary school students in grade III and IV in Tegallalang Elementary School 4 have a level of knowledge with failed criteria and OHI-S with good criteria.
