Abstract

Rabies is a contagious animal disease caused by a virus and can be transmitted to people. Rabies is a world health problem because it almost always causes death after clinical symptoms arise. If first aid in the bite of a rabies-transmitting animal is given quickly and accurately, then rabies death can be prevented. Health education can increase knowledge, attitudes and actions so that it can change a person's behavior. This research aims to determine the effect of health education with calendar media on the behavior of rabies transmitting animal first aid. This type of research is Pre-Experimental Design with the design of One-Group Pretest-Posttest using simple random sampling. The populations is 136 peoples. The samples is 59 peoples. The research was conducted on April 28 to May 11, 2019. The results showed that before being given health education, families knowledge (49.2%), attitudes (64.4%), and actions (54.2%). After being given health education most families knowledge increase (69.5%), while for attitudes (88.1%) and (89.8%) actions. The statistical test used in this research by Wilcoxon test, obtained ρ-value = 0,000 <alpha (0,05), it can be concluded that there is an influence of health education with calendar media on the behavior of rabies transmitting animal first aid in Banjar Dadia Tamanbali. Based on the results of the research to the UPT Puskesmas Bangli Community Health Center use this calendar media as a media to educate the public about rabies. Rabies merupakan penyakit hewan menular yang disebabkan oleh virus dan dapat menular pada orang. Rabies menjadi masalah kesehatan dunia karena hampir selalu menyebabkan kematian setelah timbul gejala klinis. Jika pertolongan pertama pada gigitan hewan penular rabies diberikan dengan cepat dan tepat, maka kematian rabies dapat dicegah. Pendidikan kesehatan dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan, sikap dan tindakan sehingga dapat merubah perilaku seseorang. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pendidikan kesehatan dengan media kalender terhadap perilaku pertolongan pertama gigitan hewan penular rabies. Jenis penelitian ini Pre-Experimental Design dengan rancangan One-Group Pretest-Posttest menggunakan simple random sampling. Jumlah populasi penelitian sebanyak 136 orang. Jumlah sampel sebanyak 59 orang. Penelitian dilakukan tanggal 28 April- 11 Mei 2019. Hasil penelitian didapatkan sebelum diberikan pendidikan kesehatan, pengetahuan keluarga (49,2%), sikap (64,4%), dan tindakan (54,2%). Setelah diberikan pendidikan kesehatan sebagian besar pengetahuan keluarga meningkat (69,5%), sedangkan untuk sikap (88,1%) dan tindakan (89,8%). Uji statistik yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini dengan uji wilcoxon, didapatkan nilai ρ-value = 0,000<alpha (0,05), maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa ada pengaruh pendidikan kesehatan dengan media kalender terhadap perilaku pertolongan pertama gigitan hewan penular rabies di banjar Dadia Tamanbali. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian kepada puskesmas untuk menggunakan media kalender ini sebagai media penyuluhan kepada masyarakat mengenai rabies
