Abstract

THE EFFECT OF BIOMECHANIC ON FALL RISK FOR OLDER ADULTS AT WORKING REGION OF UPT. KESMAS SUKAWATI I 2019 ABSTRACT The most problem often occurs on older adults is falling. As a person ages, the risk of falling is higher, so exercise is needed to prevent that problem, one of them is by using biomechanic. Biomechanic exercise is a simple exercise that help older adults to move from getting up, sitting, standing, and walking correctly. This study aims to determine the effect of biomechanic on fall risk for older adults. This study has done for 3 weeks by using pre-experimental research with one group pre-post test design on 20 respondents. Purposive sampling was used in this study. Fall risk was measured twice by using Timed Up and Go (TUG) test, on first week before doing biomechanic and at the end of the third week after doing biomechanic. The result of this study showed that the average of TUG test values have decreased from 16,14 seconds to 13,33 seconds. The result of paired t-test has obtained p value of 0,001 and t value of 5,160 (α = 0,05). According to the result, it can be concluded that there is a significant effect between biomechanic and fall risk on older adults. Therefore, it is recommended that there should be screening about fall risk to older adults at public health center and the nurses inform about biomechanic exercise to the families as preventive action to decrease fall risk. Keywords: Biomechanic, Fall Risk, Older Adults PENGARUH BIOMEKANIK TERHADAP RISIKO JATUH PADA LANSIA DI WILAYAH KERJA UPT. KESMAS SUKAWATI I TAHUN 2019 ABSTRAK Masalah yang paling sering dialami lansia adalah jatuh. Semakin menua seseorang, risiko jatuh semakin tinggi, sehingga dibutuhkan latihan untuk mencegah hal tersebut, salah satunya menggunakan biomekanik. Latihan biomekanik adalah latihan sederhana yang membantu lansia berpindah posisi dari bangun, duduk, berdiri, dan berjalan secara benar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh biomekanik terhadap risiko jatuh pada lansia. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan selama 3 minggu menggunakan metode pre experimental dengan one group pre-post test design pada 20 responden. Teknik purposive sampling digunakan dalam pengambilan sampel pada penelitian ini. Risiko jatuh diukur dua kali menggunakan uji Timed Up and Go (TUG) pada minggu pertama sebelum dilakukan biomekanik dan akhir minggu ketiga setelah dilakukan biomekanik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata nilai TUG mengalami pengurangan dari 16,14 detik menjadi 13,33 detik. Hasil uji paired t-test diperoleh nilai p = 0,001 dan nilai t = 5,160 (α = 0,05). Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini bahwa ada pengaruh yang signifikan antara biomekanik dengan risiko jatuh pada lansia. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut, maka diharapkan adanya skrining mengenai risiko jatuh pada lansia di Puskesmas dan perawat menginformasikan latihan biomekanik kepada keluarga sebagai upaya preventif dalam mengurangi risiko jatuh.
