Abstract

DESCRIPTION OF URIC ACID LEVELS AMONG ELDERLY PATIENTS AT UPTD PUSKESMAS IV SOUTH DENPASAR ABSTRACT This study was conducted to determine the description of uric acid levels in the elderly at the UPTD Puskesmas IV South Denpasar and to see its relationship with the characteristics of the respondents. The method used in this study was descriptive with a sample of 41 elderly. The sample selection was carried out using a purposive sampling technique which is included in non-probability sampling. Measurement of uric acid levels was carried out using the Point of Care Testing (POCT) method. The results showed that most respondents had a normal body mass index (BMI), namely 18 people (43.9%). Meanwhile, respondents with obesity category I numbered 10 people (24.4%), overweight category numbered 7 people (17.1%), and obesity II numbered 6 people (14.6%). Based on gender, respondents were predominantly female with a total of 29 people (70.7%). From the uric acid level examination, the results showed that 21 respondents (51.2%) had increased uric acid levels, while 20 respondents (48.8%) had normal uric acid levels. There were no respondents with low uric acid levels. High uric acid levels are more common in middle-aged to elderly people, especially women and respondents with overweight or obese BMIs. Based on BMI, the highest number of elderly people with high uric acid levels were in the normal BMI category (17.0-<18.5 kg/m2). The conclusion of this study is that uric acid levels in elderly people at Puskesmas IV, South Denpasar, were mostly in the normal category.. Keywords : Elderly, Uric Acid Level GAMBARAN KADAR ASAM URAT PADA LANSIA DI UPTD PUSKESMAS IV DENPASAR SELATAN ABSTRAK Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui gambaran kadar asam urat pada lansia di UPTD Puskesmas IV Denpasar Selatan serta melihat hubungannya dengan karakteristik responden. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 41 lansia. Pemilihan sampel dilakukan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling yang termasuk dalam non probability sampling. Pengukuran kadar asam urat dilakukan memakai metode Point of Care Testing (POCT). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar responden memiliki indeks massa tubuh (IMT) normal, yaitu sebanyak 18 orang (43,9%). Sementara itu, responden dengan kategori obesitas I berjumlah 10 orang (24,4%), kategori gemuk sebanyak 7 orang (17,1%), dan obesitas II sebanyak 6 orang (14,6%). Berdasarkan jenis kelamin, responden didominasi oleh perempuan dengan jumlah 29 orang (70,7%).Dari pemeriksaan kadar asam urat diperoleh hasil bahwa 21 responden (51,2%) mengalami peningkatan kadar asam urat, sedangkan 20 responden (48,8%) memiliki kadar asam urat normal. Tidak terdapat responden dengan kadar asam urat rendah. Kadar asam urat tinggi lebih sering ditemukan pada lansia usia pertengahan sampai lanjut, terutama pada perempuan dan responden dengan IMT gemuk maupun obesitas. dan berdasarkan IMT di temukan paling banyak lansia dengan kadar asam urat tinggi pada kategori IMT normal (17,0-<18,5 kg/m2). Kesimpulan pada penelitian ini adalah kadar asam urat pada lansia di Puskesmas IV Denpasar Selatan sebagian besar pada kategori normal. Kata Kunci: Lansia, Kadar Asam Urat
