Abstract

INEFFECTIVE BREASTFEEDING CARE USING A COMBINATION OF THE WOOLWICH MASSAGE TECHNIQUE AND LAVENDER AROMATHERAPY AMONG POST SECTIO CAESAREA ABSTRACK Insufficient breast milk production in postpartum mothers can lead to ineffective breastfeeding between the mother and her baby, resulting in breastfeeding difficulties. One method to address this issue is breast massage. An innovative intervention that can be employed is a combination of the Woolwich massage technique and lavender aromatherapy. The objective of this case study is to provide an overview of nursing care for ineffective breastfeeding in postpartum mothers using a combination of the Woolwich massage technique and lavender aromatherapy in the Tunjung Ward of Bali Mandara Regional General Hospital in 2026. This study employed a case study method with a single respondent, a multiparous postpartum mother. This scientific work utilized a comprehensive five-step nursing care approach, encompassing assessment, nursing diagnosis, nursing planning, nursing implementation, and nursing evaluation. The results showed that maternal fatigue decreased, maternal anxiety decreased, the infant appeared willing to latch onto the mother’s nipple, breast milk appeared to be flowing, the infant did not cry after breastfeeding, and the infant urinated more than 8 times in 24 hours. The conclusion of this study is that the combination of the Woolwich massage technique and lavender aromatherapy is effective in addressing ineffective breastfeeding issues; therefore, it is recommended to implement this innovative intervention to support the success of the exclusive breastfeeding program. ASUHAN KEPERAWATAN MENYUSUI TIDAK EFEKTIF DENGAN KOMBINASI TEKNIK WOOLWICH MASSAGE DAN AROMA TERAPI LAVENDER PADA IBU POST SEKSIO SESAREA ABSTRAK Ketidakcukupan produksi ASI pada ibu post partum akan berdampak pada ketidakefektifan proses menyusui ibu dengan bayinya sehingga akan menimbulkan masalah menyusui tidak efektif. Cara yang dapat dilakukan untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut salah satunya dengan massage pada payudara ibu. Intervensi inovatif yang bisa digunakan yaitu kombinasi teknik woolwich massage dan aroma terapi lavender. Tujuan dari studi kasus ini adalah untuk memberikan gambaran asuhan keperawatan menyusui tidak efektif pada ibu post partum dengan kombinasi teknik woolwich massage dan aroma terapi lavender di Ruang Tunjung RSUD Bali Mandara Tahun 2026. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode studi kasus dengan satu responden ibu post partum multipara. Karya ilmiah ini menggunakan pendekatan lima asuhan keperawatan yang komprehensif meliputi pengkajian, diagnosis keperawatan, perencanaan keperawatan, implementasi keperawatan, dan evaluasi keperawatan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keluhan kelelahan maternal menurun, keluhan kecemasan maternal menurun, bayi tampak mau melekat pada putting ibu, ASI tampak sudah menetes/memancar, bayi tampak tidak menangis setelah menyusui, miksi bayi lebih dari 8 kali/24 jam. Simpulan penelitian ini adalah kombinasi teknik woolwich massage dan aroma terapi lavender efektif dalam mengatasi masalah menyusui tidak efektif sehingga disarankan untuk menerapkan intervensi inovatif ini guna mendukung keberhasilan program ASI eksklusif.
