Abstract
ABSTRACT Nutritional intake in pregnant women determines the health of the mother and fetus. Chronic Energy Deficiency (CED) belongs to the group of pregnant women with risk factors. The purpose of this study was to determine chronic energy deficiency with low birth weight in Puskesmas 1 Denpasar Selatan. This study used a crossectional analysis method. The study was conducted in April-May 2019 with a non-probability sampling technique of the type of purposive sampling. The sample used was 48 respondents. Data collection by taking maternal upper arm circumference (LILA) data during pregnancy and data on the birth weight of babies during delivery in January-March 2019 recorded in the cohort or book register of Puskesmas 1 Denpasar Selatan. Chi Square test result show that there is a not relationship bertween CED with low birth weight ( p (0,204) > α (0,05)). The conclusion of this study is that there is a not relationship between CED with low birth weight in Puskesmas I Denpasar Selatan in 2019. Health workers are expected can do early detection related to nutrition for pregnant so that the incidence of LBW can be prevented. Keywords: Chronic Energy Deficiency, Pregnancy, Low Birth Weight
