Abstract
Dental Health Is important because digestion of fond starts with the help of teeth. Dental and oral diaseases that are suffered by many people in Indonesia are diseases of the buffer and caries. Tooth holes or dental caries is the disease that attaccks the oral cavity due to bacterial damage to the hard tissue of the teeth. Damage to dental tissue if it is not immediately followed up will spread. Tooth holes that are left behind will cause pain in the teeth, infection of the gums, tooth loss, and even death. This study aims to determine the level of knowledge about dental caries in fifth grade students of SDN 29 Pemecutan Kaja. This reseaach is a descriptive study to axplain the level of knowledge of fifth grade student of SDN 29 Pemecutan Kaja . This study used a sample 0f 35 student. The data used in this study are primary data using questionare instruments. The results of the study about the level of knowledge about dental caries with verry good criteria as many as 20 people, good criteria as many as 11 people, enough criteria as many as 4 people, less criteria as many as 0 people, and failure criteria as many as 0 people. The average level of knowledge about dental caries is 79,14 witch is classified as failure criterion. Key word :knowledge, denta carries, elementary school
