Abstract
Oral mouth hygiene is a part of a whole human health. Oral hygiene is the most important infestation of each people. The purpose of this study is to know the description of knowledge of how to care for dental and mouth hygiene, before and after counselling on fifth grade students at SDN 4 Tegallang in year 2019. The type of this study is description study. The type of data collected are primary data which is formed as a descriptive students’ knowledge level and the secondary data is sourced from fifth grade students’ name list. The data collection was conducted by giving a test before counselling conducted as pre-test then given a counselling in one time, and ended by giving post-test as a evaluation. The result of this study showed the students’ knowledge level before counselling conducted which is most of students showed only having knowledge level in the category of enough which there are eleventh (11 students or 36,67%). Meanwhile, the result of this study showed students’ knowledge level after counselling conducted which is most of students showed only having knowledge level in the category of very good level which there are 26 students (86,66%) in this category. The average value of students’ knowledge level before the counselling is conducted is 49,66 as categorized as failed level. Meanwhile The average value of students’ knowledge level after the counselling is conducted is 89,66 as categorized as very good. The conclusion was conducted is higher than before the counselling was conducted. Keywords: Level of Knowledge, Dental and Mouth Care, Counselling.
