Abstract
The most common dental health problems today are periodontal disease and dental caries. The purpose of this study was to determine the description of permanent dental caries in fifth grade students of SD Negeri 28 Dangin Puri Denpasar Utara in April 2019. This research is a descriptive study, with a survey design. The number of respondents in this study were 97 people. The data collected is primary data. The results showed 19 students experienced caries (19,6%). Male students who experienced caries were 6 (31,6%) and female students were 13 (68,4%). And 27 permanent teeth affected by caries. The tooth surface affected by caries in the occlusal was 24 and the occlusal disto was 3. On average teeth remain affected by caries of 0.28 and the tooth mode that most frequently suffers from caries is tooth 46 (Right Molar First Lower Right Jaw), as many as 14 teeth. So most of the fifth grade students of SD Negeri 28 Dangin Puri Denpasar Utara are free of dental caries. The conclusion of this study is that on average each student has zero to one dental caries in his permanent teeth, and the mode of teeth affected by caries is tooth 46.
