Abstract

Low back pain (LBP) is a physiological disorder in third trimester pregnant women in the musculoskeletal system. Non-pharmacological therapy in the form of effleurage massage can be given to third trimester pregnant women who experience lower back pain which is carried out for 5 days with the help of their husbands. This study aims to determine differences in the intensity of low back pain before and after being given an effleurage massage. This type of research is pre-experimental with one group pretest and posttest design. This research was conducted in March-May 2023 with a total of 31 respondents who were taken using a purposive sampling technique. The instruments used in this study were videos and observation sheets with a numerical rating scale (NRS). The results of the normality test with the Shapiro Wilk test showed that the data were not normally distributed so that the data analysis used the Wilcoxon test with a significance level of p-value <0.05. The results show that the median before being given massage effleurage is 5 and the median after being given massage effleurage is 2, so the conclusion in this study is that H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. The researchers suggestions are that the UPTD Health Center I of the East Denpasar District Health Office will inform and apply non-pharmacological massage effleurage therapy to third-trimester pregnant women who complain of low back pain by providing video shows during class for pregnant women. Keywords: back pain; pregnant women; massage effleurage Nyeri punggung bawah atau low back pain (LBP) merupakan salah satu gangguan fisiologis pada ibu hamil trimester III pada bagian sistem muskuloskeletal. Terapi non farmakologi berupa massage effleurage dapat diberikan kepada ibu hamil trimester III yang mengalami nyeri punggung bawah yang dilakukan selama 5 hari dengan dibantu suami. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan intensitas nyeri punggung bawah sebelum dan sesudah diberikan massage effleurage. Jenis penelitian ini adalah pre-eksperimental dengan one group pretest and posttest design. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada bulan Maret-Mei 2023 dengan jumlah responden 31 orang yang diambil dengan teknik purposive sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan pada penelitian ini berupa video dan lembar observasi dengan numeric rating scale (NRS). Hasil uji normalitas dengan uji Shapiro Wilk didapatkan data tidak berdistribusi normal sehingga analisis data menggunnakan uji Wilcoxon dengan tingkat kemaknaan p-value < 0,05. Hasil menunjukkan median sebelum diberikan massage effleurage sebesar 5 dan median setelah diberikan massage effleurage sebesar 2, maka kesimpulan dalam penelitian ini H0 ditolak dan Ha diterima. Saran peneliti diharapkan kepada UPTD Puskesmas I Dinas Kesehatan Kecamatan Denpasar Timur agar menginformasikan dan menerapkan terapi non farmakologi massage effleurage kepada ibu hamil trimester III yang mengeluh nyeri punggung bawah dengan memberikan tayangan berupa video pada saat kelas ibu hamil.
