Abstract

TEST THE INHIBITOR POWER OF KOMBUCHA TEA STEVIA (Stevia rebaudiana) AGAINST BACTERIA Staphylococcus aureus ABSTRACT Today's modern era, infectious diseases are still a health problem in both developing and developed countries. The causes of these infectious diseases are caused by microorganisms including parasites, viruses, and bacteria. In patients with infectious diseases caused by bacteria Staphylococcus aureus usually treated with antibiotics. The use of inappropriate therapy can cause resistance. Resistance is an event that causes the process of treating bacterial infections in humans to be ineffective and can even fail. The purpose of this study was to determine the inhibition of kombucha stevia tea (Stevia rebaudiana) against bacteria Staphylococcus aureus. This type of research istrue experiment by design Posttest- Only Group Design. The results showed that kombucha stevia tea can inhibit bacterial growth Staphylococcus aureus based on variations in fermentation time on the 6th, 8th, 10th, 12th and 14th days with inhibition zone diameters of 5.23 mm respectively; 5.93 mm ; 7.40 mm ; 7.93 mm ; and 9.00 mm, while the positive control group obtained a zone of 29.20 mm and a negative control of 0 mm In conclusion, there are differences in the inhibition zones of the variations in rosella kombucha fermentation time on bacterial growth Staphylococcus aureus with medium inhibition zone diameter category. Keywoards : Kombucha stevia tea, Staphylococcus aureus, Zone of inhibition UJI DAYA HAMBAT KOMBUCHA TEH STEVIA (Stevia rebaudiana) TERHADAP BAKTERI Staphylococcus aureus ABSTRAK Zaman modern saat ini, penyakit infeksi masih menjadi permasalahan kesehatan baik di negara berkembang maupun di negara-negara maju. Adapun penyebab penyakit infeksi tersebut disebabkan oleh mikroorganisme antara lain adalah parasit, virus, dan bakteri. Pada penderita penyakit infeksi yang disebabkan oleh bakteri Staphylococcus aureus pada umumnya dilakukan terapi berupa antibiotik. Penggunaan terapi yang tidak sesuai dapat menimbulkan resistensi. Resistensi merupakan kejadian yang mengakibatkan proses pengobatan infeksi bakteri pada manusia menjadi tidak efektif bahkan dapat terjadi kegagalan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui daya hambat kombucha teh stevia (Stevia rebaudiana) terhadap bakteri Staphylococcus aureus.. Jenis penelitian ini adalah true experiment dengan desain Posttest-Only Group Design. Hasil penelitian didapatkan bahwa kombucha teh stevia dapat menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri Staphylococcus aureus berdasarkan variasi waktu fermentasi hari ke-6, ke-8, ke- 10, ke-12 dan ke-14 dengan diameter zona hambat berturut-turut sebesar 5,23 mm ; 5,93 mm ; 7,40 mm ; 7, 93 mm ; dan 9,00 mm, sedangkan pada kelompok kontrol positif didapatkan zona sebesar 29,20 mm dan kontrol negatif sebesar 0 mm Simpulan Terdapat perbedaan zona hambat dari variasi waktu fermentasi kombucha teh rosella terhadap pertumbuhan bakteri Staphylococcus aureus dengan kategori diameter zona hambat sedang.
