Abstract
DESCRIPTION OF BLOOD SUGAR LEVELS AMONG ELDERLY IN PEDUNGAN VILLAGE, DENPASAR CITY ABSTRACT Background: Blood glucose levels are sugar in the blood which is formed from carbohydrates which stored as glycogen. Elderly is someone who has entered the age of 60 who experiences various physical changes that cause excess blood glucose levels that are at high risk of developing Diabetes Mellitus. Purpose: The purpose of this study was to describe blood sugar levels in the elderly in Pedungan Village, Denpasar City. Method: This research is a descriptive which was carried out in February 2023. The subjects of this study were 44 elderly who were obtained using a purposive sampling technique. Data were obtained by means of interviews and using the glucose oxidase enzymatic method. Result: The results of this study were as many as (13.6%) of the elderly who had blood glucose levels in the low category, as many as (31.8%) in the normal category and as much as (54.5%) in the high category. Conclusions: Based on age characteristics, the results obtained when blood glucose levels were high in respondents aged 60-74 years (27.3%), blood glucose levels when high in respondents with a frequency of eating 2 -3 times a day (38.6%) and levels blood glucose when the highest respondents with a history of diabetes mellitus category, namely no history of diabetes as much (31.8%). Description of blood glucose levels when the elderly in Pedungan Village mostly have high glucose levels (54.5%). Keywords: blood glucose levels, elderly GAMBARAN KADAR GLUKOSA DARAH SEWAKTU PADA LANSIA DI DESA PEDUNGAN KOTA DENPASAR ABSTRAK Kadar glukosa darah merupakan gula yang berada dalam darah yang terbentuk dari karbohidrat dalam makanan disimpan sebagai glikogen. Lanjut usia merupakan seseorang yang telah memasuki usia 60 yang mengalami berbagai perubahan secara fisik yang menyebabkan kelebihan kadar glukosa darah yang beresiko tinggi penyakit Diabetes Mellitus. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengambarkan kadar gula darah sewaktu pada lansia di Desa Pedungan, Kota Denpasar. Penelitian ini adalah deskriptif yang di laksanakan pada februari 2023. Subjek penelitian ini 44 lansia yang didapat dengan teknik purposive sampling. Data didaptkan dengan cara wawancara dan pemeriksaaan dengan alat POCT merk Easy Touch GCU metode enzimatik glucose oxidase. Hasil penelitian ini adalah sebanyak (13,6%) lansia yang memiliki kadar glukosa darah sewaktu kategori rendah, sebanyak (31,8%) kategori normal dan sebanyak (54,5%) kategori tinggi. Berdasarkan karakteristik usia didapatkan hasil kadar glukosa darah sewaktu tinggi pada responden dengan usia 60 – 74 tahun sebanyak (27,3%), kadar glukosa darah sewaktu tinggi pada responden dengan frekuensi makan 2 -3 kali sehari sebanyak (38,6%) dan kadar glukosa darah sewaktu tinggi responden dengan kategori riwayat diabetes mellitus terbanyak yaitu tidak ada riwayat diabetes sebanyak (31,8%). Gambaran kadar glukosa darah sewaktu pada lansia di Desa Pedungan sebagian besar memiliki kadar glukosa yang tinggi yaitu (54,5%). Kata kunci : Kadar glukosa darah, Lansia
