Abstract

DESCRIPTION OF URIC ACID LEVELS IN ALCOHOL DRINKERS AT MELAYA VILLAGE MELAYA DISTRIC JEMBRANA REGENCY ABSRACT Uric acid is the final metabolic product of purines, which is a component of nucleic acids found in the nucleus of body cells. Increased uric acid levels can be influenced by age, frequency of alcohol consumption, obesity, and consumption of foods high in purines. People who drink alcohol have a high risk of increasing uric acid levels because alcoholic beverages are also a source of purines which can also inhibit the excretion of purines through the kidneys. The purpose of this study was to determine uric acid levels in alcohol drinkers in Melaya Village, Melaya District, Jembrana Regency. The study was conducted from January to May 2023 with a total sample of 35 people who met the inclusion criteria. This research method uses a descriptive research type with accidental sampling technique. Examination of uric acid levels in respondents was carried out using the Electrode Based Biosensor method. The results of this study indicate that alcohol drinkers with normal uric acid levels are 40,0% and high uric acid levels are 60,0%. High uric acid levels were more dominant in the age group 41-60 years 65,2%, the frequency of consuming alcohol 1-2x a week was 53,8%, based on obesity the obesity category was 80,0% and consumption of foods high in purines ≥3x a week was 66,7%. Keywords: alcohol, uric acid levels GAMBARAN KADAR ASAM URAT PADA PEMINUM ALKOHOL DI DESA MELAYA KECAMATAN MELAYA KABUPATEN JEMBRANA ABSTRAK Asam urat adalah hasil metabolisme akhir dari purin yaitu salah satu komponen asam nukleat yang terdapat dalam inti sel tubuh. Peningkatan kadar asam urat dapat dipengaruhi oleh faktor usia, frekuensi konsumsi alkohol, obesitas, dan konsumsi makanan tinggi purin. Masyarakat yang meminum alkohol memiliki risiko tinggi terhadap peningkatan kadar asam urat karena minuman beralkohol juga menjadi salah satu sumber purin yang juga dapat menghambat pembuangan purin melalui ginjal. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui kadar asam urat pada peminum alkohol di Desa Melaya Kecamatan Melaya Kabupaten Jembrana. Penelitian dilakukan pada bulan Januari sampai Mei 2023 dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 35 orang yang sudah memenuhi kritera inklusi. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian deskriptif dengan teknik accidental sampling. Pemeriksaan kadar asam urat pada responden dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode Electrode Based Biosensor. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa peminum alkohol dengan kadar asam urat normal sebesar 40,0% dan kadar asam urat tinggi sebesar 60,0%. Kadar asam urat tinggi lebih didominasi pada kelompok usia 41-60 tahun 65,2%, frekuensi konsumsi alkohol 1-2x seminggu 53,8%, berdasarkan obesitas kategori obesitas 80,0% dan konsumsi makanan tinggi purin ≥3x seminggu 66,7%.
