Abstract
DESCRIPTION OF TOTAL CHOLESTEROL LEVELS IN THE ELDERLY BENGKEL VILLAGE KEDIRI DISTRICT TABANAN REGENCY ABSTRACT High cholesterol is a serious problem because it is one of the factors that can cause various non-communicable diseases such as coronary heart disease. High cholesterol in the blood will stick to the walls of blood vessels. The purpose of this study was to describe total cholesterol levels in the elderly in Bengkel Village, Kediri District, Tabanan Regency. This type of research is descriptive with a total sample of 41 samples using simple random sampling technique. Data collection was carried out through interviews and examination was carried out by taking capillary blood using the Point Of Care Testing (POCT) method. The results showed that 73.2% of the respondents were aged 60-70 years, 56.1% were female, 87.8% were in the never physically active group, 70.7% were non-obese respondents and 87.8% were non-smokers. The results of measuring total cholesterol levels showed that 48.8% of respondents were in the normal category, 31.7% of respondents were in the moderately high category and 19.5% of respondents were in the high category. The conclusion in this study was that 19.5% of respondents had high total cholesterol levels. where it is influenced by factors of age, gender, physical activity, obesity and smoking habits. Keywords: Total cholesterol, elderly GAMBARAN KADAR KOLESTEROL TOTAL PADA LANSIA DI DESA BENGKEL KECAMATAN KEDIRI KABUPATEN TABANAN ABSTRAK Kolesterol tinggi adalah masalah serius karena merupakan salah satu faktor yang dapat menyebabkan berbagai penyakit tidak menular seperti penyakit jantung koroner. Kolesterol tinggi dalam darah akan melekat pada dinding pembuluh darah. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui gambaran kadar kolesterol total pada lansia Desa Bengkel Kecamatan Kediri Kabupaten Tabanan. Jenis penelitian, ini adalah deskriptif dengan jumlah sampel 41 sampel dengan teknik pengambilan simple random sampling. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara dan pemeriksaan dilakukan dengan pengambilan darah kapiler menggunakan metode Point Of Care Testing (POCT). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan 73.2% responden merupakan usia 60 – 70 tahun, 56,1% berjenis kelamin perempuan, 87,8% merupakan kelompok tidak pernah beraktivitas fisik, 70,7% responden non obesitas dan 87,8% merupakan kelompok responden tidak merokok. Hasil pengukuran kadar kolesterol total menunjukkan 48,8% responden dengan kategori normal, 31,7% responden dengan kategori cukup tinggi dan 19,5% responden dengan kategori tinggi Kesimpulan dalam penelitian ini yaitu sebanyak 19,5% responden memiliki kadar kolesterol total kategori tinggi dimana hal tersebut dipengaruhi berdasarkan faktor usia, jenis kelamin, aktivitas fisik, obesitas dan kebiasaan merokok.
