Abstract
TOTAL CHOLESTEROL LEVELS IN THE ELDERLY IN SEMPIDI TRADITIONAL VILLAGE, BADUNG DISTRICT BALI PROVINCE ABSTRACT Increased total cholesterol levels are one of the causes of heart disease, which is common in the elderly due to decreased organ function and reduced physical abilities. The purpose of this study was to determine total cholesterol levels in the elderly in Sempidi Traditional Village, Badung Regency, Bali Province. The research method used was descriptive, with a total of 42 elderly respondents obtained by simple ramdom sampling technique. Total cholesterol levels were measured by the Point of Care Testing (POCT) method. The results showed that of the 42 respondents, (22%) respondents had high total cholesterol levels, (26%) in the threshold category, and (52%) in the normal category. High total cholesterol levels were found in the age range of 60-65 years (17%), and more experienced by elderly women (14%), including infrequent consumption of high-fat foods (12%), non-obese (19%), and non-smoking (19%). Keywords: Total cholesterol; elderly KADAR KOLESTEROL TOTAL PADA LANSIA DI DESA ADAT SEMPIDI KABUPATEN BADUNG PROVINSI BALI ABSTRAK Peningkatan kadar kolesterol total merupakan salah satu penyebab penyakit jantung yang banyak terjadi pada lansia karena penurunan fungsi organ tubuh dan berkurangnya kemampuan fisik. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kadar kolesterol total pada lansia di Desa Adat Sempidi Kabupaten Badung Provinsi Bali. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif, dengan jumlah responden sebanyak 42 lansia yang diperoleh dengan teknik simple ramdom sampling. Kadar kolesterol total diukur dengan metode Point of Care Testing (POCT). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dari 42 responden, (22%) responden memiliki kadar kolesterol total tinggi, (26%) dalam kategori ambang batas, dan (52%) dalam kategori normal. Kadar kolesterol total yang tinggi ditemukan pada rentang usia 60-65 tahun (17%), dan lebih banyak dialami oleh wanita lanjut usia (14%), termasuk jarang mengonsumsi makanan tinggi lemak (12%), non obesitas (19%), dan tidak merokok (19%).
