Abstract

DESCRIPTION OF BLOOD GLUCOSE LEVELS WHEN ACTIVE SMOKERS IN MENEGA, DAUHWARU SUB-DISTRICT, JEMBRANA DISTRICT ABSTRACT Smoking is an activity that is carried out by inhaling and enjoying cigarette smoke which has a calming effect on those who do it. The content contained in cigarettes causes insulin resistance which is the main cause of increased blood glucose levels so that active smokers are at risk of various diseases. The purpose of this study was to identify blood glucose levels in active smokers in the Menega Environment, Dauhwaru Village, Jembrana District. The research method is an observational descriptive which was conducted in February-April 2023 with a total of 41 respondents who were obtained using a purposive sampling technique. Current Blood Glucose Levels were measured by the POCT method. The results showed that blood glucose levels during active smokers in the Menega Environment out of 41 obtained blood glucose levels in the normal category, namely as many as 31 people, in the low category, as many as 7 people, and in the high category, as many as 3 people. Normal glucose levels were mostly found in respondents with an age range of 19-45 years. Blood glucose levels in the high category were found in smokers with a smoking duration of >15 years and the number of cigarettes consumed >20 cigarettes per day. The conclusion of this study is that most of the active smokers in Menega have normal blood glucose levels. Blood glucose levels during normal times are most commonly found at the age of 19-44 years and are more experienced by respondents with a smoking duration of 6-15 years with a total cigarette consumption of 11-20 cigarettes per day. Keywords: Blood Glucose During, Active Smokers, POCT GAMBARAN KADAR GLUKOSA DARAH SEWAKTU PADA PEROKOK AKTIF DI LINGKUNGAN MENEGA, KELURAHAN DAUHWARU, KECAMATAN JEMBRANA ABSTRAK Merokok adalah kegiatan yang dilakukan dengan menghirup asap rokok yang memberikan efek tenang bagi yang melakukan. Kandungan yang terdapat dalam rokok menyebabkan resistensi insulin yang merupakan penyebab utama kenaikan kadar glukosa darah sehingga perokok aktif beresiko terkena berbagai macam penyakit. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengidentifikasi kadar glukosa darah sewaktu pada perokok aktif di Lingkungan Menega, Kelurahan Dauhwaru, Kecamatan Jembrana. Metode penelitian ini adalah deskriptif obesrvatif yang dilakukan pada bulan Februari-April 2023 dengan jumlah responden 41 orang yang diperoleh dengan teknik purposive sampling. Kadar Glukosa Darah Sewaktu diukur dengan metode POCT. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa kadar glukosa darah sewaktu pada perokok aktif di Lingkungan Menega dari 41 didapatkan kadar glukosa darah dalam kategori normal yaitu sebanyak 31 orang dan kategori rendah sebanyak 7 orang, serta dengan kategori tinggi sebanyak 3 orang. Kadar glukosa normal banyak didapatkan pada responden dengan rentang usia 19-45 tahun. Kadar glukosa darah dengan kategori tinggi didapatkan pada perokok dengan lama merokok >15 tahun dan jumlah konsumsi rokok >20 batang perhari. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah sebagian besar perokok aktif di Lingkungan Menega memiliki kadar glukosa darah sewaktu normal. Kadar glukosa darah sewaktu normal paling banyak ditemui pada usia 19-44 tahun serta lebih banyak dialami responden dengan lama merokok 6-15 tahun dengan jumlah konsumsi rokok 11-20 batang rokok perhari.
