Abstract

HYPOVOLEMIA NURSING CARE IN PATIENTS OF ACUTE GASTROENTERITIS (GEA) IN THE EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT AT SANGLAH HOSPITAL DENPASAR YEAR 2021 ABSTRACT Acute gastroenteritis (GEA) or diarrhea is still a health problem in developing and developed countries. GEA can cause patients to experience hypovolemia which if not treated immediately can lead to death. Giving the Passive Leg Raising (PLR) position as a fluid responsive parameter is one of the right innovation interventions given to hypovolemic patients because it can determine the extent to which fluids are needed by the body. Sanglah Denpasar in 2021. The results of nursing care in this scientific work are in the assessment data, patients come with complaints of weakness, diarrhea, vomiting, decreased blood pressure, increased pulse frequency, increased body temperature, dry lip mucosa, decreased skin turgor, and increased hematocrit. The priority nursing diagnosis that emerged was hypovolemia associated with active fluid loss, characterized by patients coming with complaints of weakness, diarrhea, vomiting, decreased blood pressure, increased pulse rate, increased body temperature, dry lip mucosa, decreased skin turgor, and increased hematocrit. Nursing planning is prepared using the main intervention, namely management of hypovolemia by planning innovative interventions to provide PLR positions, goals and outcome criteria, namely the patient's fluid status is improving. The implementation given is in the form of observation, therapeutic, educational, collaborative, and giving PLR positions to patients. The results of the evaluation of the implementation of hypovolemia management with innovative PLR interventions, namely the patient's fluid status improved and PLR was effectively used as a fluid responsive parameter in hypovolemic patients.
