Abstract
DESCRIPTION OF SELF-ACCEPTANCE IN DIABETES MELLITUS PATIENTS IN DENPASAR BARAT II PUBLIC HEALTH CENTER IN 2021 Self-acceptance is an important aspect that patients with chronic diseases such as Diabetes Mellitus disease should have. The general purpose of this research is to find out about description of self-acceptance in diabetes mellitus patients in Denpasar Barat II Public Health Center in 2021. This study uses quantitative descriptive method with cross sectional research design. Purposive sampling with a total of 36 samples. The instrument used is the Acceptance of Illness Scale (AIS). Based on the results of the study, most respondents had high self-acceptance as many as 21 people (58.3%).High self-acceptance based on age in the range of 61-70 years as many as 10 people (27.8%), based on gender in women as many as 11 people (30.6%), based on education in elementary school education as many as 9 people (25.0%), based on the length of dm suffered in patients DM <10 years as many as 16 people (44.4%), based on marital status as many as 21 people (58.3%). From the results of the study, the majority of respondents had high self-acceptance as many as 21 people (58.3%). Keywords: Self-acceptance, diabetes mellitus patients, chronic diseases
