Abstract
NURSING CARE OF BLOOD GLUCOSE INSTABILITY ON NY.S WITH TYPE II DIABETES MELLITUS IN ASTINA ROOM SANJIWANI GIANYAR HOSPITAL IN 2021 ABSTRACT Diabetes mellitus occurs due to decreased insulin secretion or insulin reseptor resistance in target organs especially the liver and mucles. . Decreased insulin production causes hyperglycemia. Chronic hyperglycemia can lead to unstable blood glucose levels. The purpose of this study was to determine the nursing care for the instability of blood glucose levels in Ny.S with Type II Diabetes Mellitus covering the data from the assessment to the results of the nursing evaluation in the Astina room of the Sanjiwani Hospital, Gianyar. The results of the study found that in the nursing assessment, patients complained of lethargy, blood glucose levels increased by 230 mg/dL. The nursing diagnosis formulated is the instability of blood glucose levels associated with insulin resistance. The nursing plan refers to the guidelines of the Indonesian Nursing Outcome Standard (SLKI) with improved blood glucose stability and the Indonesian Nursing Intervention Standard with the main intervention of hyperglycemia management, dietary education support interventions, and innovative progressive muscle relaxation interventions. Nursing implementation is carried out according to the planned nursing plan for 3x24 hours. Nursing evaluation shows that the goals have been achieved, as evidenced by the achievement of all predetermined outcomes. Provision of progressive muscle relaxation can be an intervention used to reduce blood glucose levels in patients with type II diabetes mellitus.
