Abstract
Knowledge comes from humans and occurs after people sense certain objects. Several studies suggest that the level of knowledge, attitudes, and behavior of pregnant women affects oral health. Hormonal factors during pregnancy can worsen the condition of the oral cavity if it is not kept clean. This condition affects the occurrence of periodontal tissue disorders and the emergence of dental and oral diseases such as gingivitis. The danger of gingivitis in pregnant women is 8.75 times the risk of a baby with LBW. The purpose of this study was to describe the knowledge of pregnant women about gingivitis in Denpasar City in 2021. The research was a descriptive study with a survey design. This research was conducted in Denpasar City. The results of this study, most pregnant women have knowledge about gingivitis with good criteria, namely 66.66% with an average knowledge of pregnant women about gingivitis, namely 80.15 with good criteria. The level of education that received the most good criteria was the level of undergraduate education, namely 14 people and Diploma, namely 3 people. Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that the knowledge of pregnant women about gingivitis has more good criteria. The average knowledge of pregnant women about gingivitis is 80.15 with good criteria. All pregnant women with Bachelor and Diploma education have good knowledge about gingivitis.
