Abstract

TOTAL PLATE COUNT AND IDENTIFICATION Staphylococcus aureus IN TRADITIONAL BODY SCRUB (Study On Massagers In Tourist Area Of Kuta Beach) ABSTRACT Traditional Body Scrub is part of cosmetics that must meet health requirements BPOM (1994) to be used safely. One of the parameters that must be met to ensure product feasibility are microbiological parameters such as Total Plate Count and the presence or absence of pathogenic bacteria such as: Staphylococcus aureus. The purpose of this research is to know Total Plate Count and identification Staphylococcus aureus in Traditional Body Scrub on massagers in Tourist area of Kuta Beach. The type of research used is descriptive. The study used ten traditional body scrub of the massagers in the Kuta beach. The results of the ALT test showed that all samples of traditional scrub (100%) compatible the standard of BPOM RI.Based on the identification of Staphylococcus aureus results showed that 9 samples (90%) compatible the quality requirements of traditional body scrub by BPOM (1994), while one sample (10%) did not qualified the identification of Staphylococcus aureus and has positive results obtained contained Staphylococcus aureus bacteria.
