Abstract
Abstract. The study aim was to determine the effect of iron supplementation (sulfa ferrosis) with milk to increase haemoglobin status, decrease morbidity and increase academic achievement of school children. This study is a quasi- experimental with pretest and posttest control group design. Samples involved are 78 samples wich are selected randomly, 36 samples are of cntroll group and 42 samples are of experiment group. Independent Sample t-Test is used to determine the difference effect of supplementation between groups and. paired sample t-test to determine the difference effect of supplementation before and after intervention in experiment group. Logistic regression was also used to determine factors influence the haemoglobin status. The study found that there was a significant increase of haemoglobin status and academic achievement of experiment group after intervention. The study suggest that iron supplement with milk could be an effective strategy to increase haemoglobin status of school children.
