Dental caries is one of the dental and oral diseases that most commonly encountered in the community. Dental caries is closely connected with the consumption of cariogenic foods. Snacking habit consists of the type and frequency of food consumption. Children have a tendency to consume excessive sugary snack foods, especially children of primary school age (6-12 years). The study aim is to determine the relationship patterns of cariogenic snacks with caries in primary school students in Puskesmas III South Denpasar year 2016. This study is observational research with cross sectional approach. Data collection techniques through examination and questionnaire. The total sample of 550 people, data analysis using Chi Square. The results were obtained 363 cariogenic (66%) and not cariogenic 187 people (34%), mean cariogenic snack habit of 1.93 ± 3.02 for snack every day, 369 caries (67.1%) and 181 no caries (32.9%) and dental caries mean of 3.20 ± 3.45 caries. There is a relationship between the consumption of cariogenic foods with dental caries with p = 0.000.
