Abstract

NURSING CARE FOR INEFFECTIVE AIRWAY CLEARANCE IN PNEUMONIA PATIENTS USING WARM STEAM THERAPY WITH EUCALYPTUS OIL IN THE JEPUN ROOM RSUD BALI MANDARA ABSTRACT Pneumonia is an acute inflammation of lung tissue caused by microorganisms such as bacteria, fungi, and viruses. Pneumonia typically causes mild to severe symptoms. Infection in the lungs causes inflammation of the air sacs (alveoli) in one or both lungs, resulting in the alveoli filling with fluid and making it difficult for the patient to breathe. The purpose of this scientific paper is to determine the profile of nursing care for ineffective airway clearance using warm steam therapy with eucalyptus oil in patients with pneumonia. The research used was descriptive with a case study approach on one respondent with pneumonia. The study results showed a 100% completion rate for major data assessment and a 60% completion rate for minor data. The nursing care plan was based on the SLKI (Standardized Nursing Care Plan) with the outcome of improved airway clearance and the SIKI (Standardized Interventional Nursing Care Plan) with primary interventions including airway management, effective coughing exercises, and respiratory monitoring, as well as the innovative intervention of warm steam therapy with eucalyptus oil, planned for 3 days (24 hours each). Nursing evaluation indicated that the objectives were achieved, with patients reporting reduced shortness of breath, increased effective coughing, decreased sputum production, reduced wheezing and dry rales, improved restlessness, improved breathing pattern, and improved respiratory rate (19 breaths/minute). Warm steam therapy with eucalyptus oil can help improve airway clearance in patients with pneumonia and can be used as a complementary self-care measure by nurses Keywords : Pneumonia, Ineffective Airway Clearance, Warm Steam Therapy with Eucalyptus Oil ASUHAN KEPERAWATAN BERSIHAN JALAN NAFAS TIDAK EFEKTIF PADA PASIEN PNEUMONIA DENGAN TERAPI UAP HANGAT DENGAN MINYAK KAYU PUTIH DI RUANG JEPUN RSUD BALI MANDARA ABSTRAK Pneumonia adalah peradangan akut jaringan paru yang disebabkan oleh mikroorganise seperti bakteri, jamur, dan virus. Pneumonia ini biasanya menimbulkan gejala ringan hingga berat. Infeksi yang terjadi pada paru-paru menyebabkan terjadinya peradagan pada kantong udara (alveoli) di salah satu atau kedua paru-paru, yang mengakibatkan alveoli dipenuhi cairan sehingga membuat penderita sulit bernafas. Tujuan karya tulis ilmiah ini adalah untuk mengetahui gambaran asuhan keperawatan bersihan jalan napas tidak efektif dengan terapi uap hangat dengan minyak kayu putih pada pasien Pneumonia. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan yaitu deskriptif dengan pendekatan studi kasus pada 1 orang responden dengan pneumonia. Hasil penelitian didapatkan pengkajian data mayor sebanyak 100% dan data minor sebanyak 60%. Diagnosis keperawatan pada kasus ini yaitu Bersihan Jalan Napas Tidak Efektif. Rencana keperawatan mengacu pada SLKI dengan luaran bersihan jalan napas meningkat dan SIKI dengan intervensi utama manajemen jalan napas, latihan batuk efektif pemantauan respirasi, serta intervensi inovasi terapi uap hangat dengan minyak kayu putih yang direncanakan 3x24 jam. Evaluasi keperawatan menunjukkan tujuan tercapai dengan hasil pasien mengatakan sesak menurun, batuk efektif meningkat, produksi sputum menurun, bunyi napas tambahan wheezing dan ronkhi kering menurun, gelisah membaik, pola napas membaik, dan frekuensi napas membaik (19x/menit). Terapi uap hangat dengan minyak kayu putih dapat membantu meningkatkan bersihan jalan napas pada pasien pneumonia serta dapat digunakan sebagai tindakan mandiri perawat berbasis komplementer.
