Abstract

NURSING CARE FOR Mr. K WITH INEFECTIVE AIRWAY CLEARANCE TO PNEUMONIA IN THE PIKAT ROOM OF KLUNGKUNG REGIONAL GENERAL HOSPITAL IN 2026 ABSTRAC Pneumonia is an acute respiratory infection that attacks the lung tissue (alveoli) caused by microorganisms such as bacteria, viruses, and fungi, which trigger an inflammatory process and increased production of secretions in the airway. This condition leads to a primary nursing problem of ineffective airway clearance, which, if left untreated, can trigger serious complications such as respiratory failure or sepsis. The purpose of this case report is to determine the nursing care for patients with ineffective airway clearance due to pneumonia. This scientific paper uses a descriptive method with a case study approach through the nursing process, which includes assessment, diagnosis,planning, implementation, and evaluation. The sample of this case report is Mr. K, with a medical diagnosis of pneumonia, in the pikat ward of Klungkung Regional General Hospital from February 13th to 15th, 2026. The assessment results showed that Mr. K experienced an ineffective cough, excessive sputum, additional breath sounds (rhonchi), dyspnea, orthopnea, restlessness, difficulty speaking, an altered respiratory rate of 25 x/minute (tachypnea), and an altered breathing pattern (rapid and shallow). Interventions provided included effective cough training, airway management, respiratory monitoring, and administration of inhalation medication via nebulizer. The evaluation results showed that the patient's condition improved and the nursing objectives were achieved. K DENGAN BERSIHAN JALAN NAFAS TIDAK EFEKTIF AKIBAT PNEUMONIA DI RUANG PIKAT RSUD KLUNGKUNG TAHUN 2026 ABSTRAK Pneumonia merupakan infeksi saluran pernapasan akut yang menyerang jaringan paru-paru (alveoli) akibat mikroorganisme seperti bakteri, virus, dan jamur yang memicu proses peradangan dan peningkatan produksi sekret dijalan napas. Kondisi ini menyebabkan masalah keperawatan utama bersihan jalan napas tidak efektif, yang jika tidak ditangani dapat memicu komplikasi serius seperti gagal napas atau sepsis. Tujuan laporan kasus ini untuk mengetahui asuhan keperawatan pasien dengan bersihan jalan napas tidak efektif akibat pneumonia. Karya tulis ilmiah ini menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan studi kasus melalui proses keperawatan yang meliputi pengkajian, diagnosis, perencanaan, implementasi, dan evaluasi. Sampel laporan kasus ini adalah Tn. K dengan diagnosa medis pneumonia di ruang pikat RSUD Klungkung tanggal 13-15 Februari 2026. Hasil pengkajian menunjukan Tn. K mengalami batuk tidak efektif, sputum berlebih, suara napas tambahan ronchi, dispnea, ortopnea, gelisah, sulit bicara, frekuensi napas berubah 25 x/menit (takipnea) dan pola napas berubah (cepat dan dangkal). Intervensi yang yang diberikan meliputi latihan batuk efektif, manajemen jalan napas, pemantauan respirasi dan pemberian obat inhalasi nebulizer. Hasil evaluasi menunjukan bahwa kondisi pasien membaik dan tujuan keperawatan tercapai. Kata Kunci : Asuhan Keperawatan, Bersihan Jalan Napas Tidak Efektif, Pneumonia.
