Abstract

RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN BLOOD GLUCOSE LEVELS AND CREATININE IN TYPE 2 DIABETES MELLITUS PATIENTS AT TABANAN REGIONAL HOSPITAL ABSTRACT Background: Type 2 diabetes mellitus is a chronic metabolic disease characterized by hyperglycemia due to insulin resistance or decreased insulin secretion. Uncontrolled chronic hyperglycemia can cause microvascular complications such as diabetic nephropathy, which is characterized by increased creatinine levels as an indicator of decreased kidney function. Objective: This study aims to determine the relationship between random blood glucose levels and creatinine levels in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus at Tabanan Regional Hospital. Method: This study used a descriptive analytical method with a cross-sectional design. A sample of 43 patients was selected using a purposive sampling technique. Examination of random blood glucose and creatinine levels was carried out using the Indiko Plus Analyzer with an enzymatic method. Data were analyzed using the Chi-Square test. Results: The average random blood glucose level of respondents was 134.58 mg/dL and the average creatinine level was 1.29 mg/dL. The results of the Chi-Square test showed a significant relationship between random blood glucose levels and creatinine levels in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (p = 0.000). Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between random blood glucose levels and creatinine levels in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. For people with diabetes mellitus, controlling blood glucose levels is very important to prevent kidney dysfunction. Keywords: DMT2, GDS, Creatinine HUBUNGAN KADAR GLUKOSA DARAH SEWAKTU DENGAN KREATININ PADA PENDERITA DIABETES MELITUS TIPE 2 DI RSUD TABANAN ABSTRAK Latar Belakang: Diabetes melitus tipe 2 merupakan penyakit metabolik kronis yang ditandai dengan hiperglikemia akibat resistensi insulin atau penurunan sekresi insulin. Hiperglikemia kronis yang tidak terkontrol dapat menimbulkan komplikasi mikrovaskular seperti nefropati diabetik, yang ditandai dengan peningkatan kadar kreatinin sebagai indikator penurunan fungsi ginjal. Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara kadar glukosa darah sewaktu dengan kadar kreatinin pada penderita diabetes melitus tipe 2 di RSUD Tabanan. Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif analitik dengan desain potong lintang (cross-sectional). Sampel berjumlah 43 pasien yang dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Pemeriksaan kadar glukosa darah sewaktu dan kreatinin dilakukan menggunakan alat Indiko Plus Analyzer dengan metode enzimatik. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji Chi-Square. Hasil: Rata-rata kadar glukosa darah sewaktu responden sebesar 134,58 mg/dL dan kadar kreatinin rata-rata sebesar 1,29 mg/dL. Hasil uji Chi-Square menunjukkan adanya hubungan yang signifikan antara kadar glukosa darah sewaktu dan kadar kreatinin pada pasien diabetes melitus tipe 2 (p = 0,000). Kesimpulan: Terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara kadar glukosa darah sewaktu dengan kadar kreatinin pada penderita diabetes melitus tipe 2. Bagi penderita diabetes melitus, kontrol kadar glukosa darah sangat penting untuk mencegah terjadinya gangguan fungsi ginjal. Kata kunci: DMT2, GDS, Kreatinin
