Abstract

Pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period are critical phases in a woman's reproductive cycle that require continuous care to prevent complications. This case study aims to evaluate the implementation of Continuity of Care (CoC) for Mrs. “SD,” a 31-year-old multigravida, from 20 weeks of pregnancy to 42 days postpartum. The mother experienced a low-risk pregnancy and attended eight antenatal visits, including the "10T" comprehensive antenatal care. Complaints such as back pain were managed through complementary care, including badhakonasana (butterfly pose) and endorphin massage. Labor proceeded normally, with the first stage lasting 7 hours, the second stage 20 minutes, and the third stage 10 minutes. A healthy male infant was born. During the postpartum period, lactation, uterine involution, and lochia were monitored, all within normal limits. The mother received education on postpartum danger signs, rest, contraception, Kegel exercises, and oxytocin massage to enhance breastmilk production. Neonatal care included early initiation of breastfeeding (EIBF), delayed cord clamping, administration of vitamin K, eye ointment, and HB0 immunization. Four neonatal visits were conducted, including physical examinations, baby massage, and BCG immunization. All care was provided according to midwifery care standards and proceeded physiologically without complications. The integration of evidence-based complementary care improved the quality of services.
