Abstract

The Relationship Between Physical Quality of Dug Wells and the Incidence of Diarrhea in Toddler Patients at Puskesmas IV, South Denpasar 2025 ABSTRACT The level of public health is used as an indicator to assess the success of development programs in the health sector, achieved through various efforts involving various sectors. Diarrhea is one of the diseases that are based on the environment and the biggest health problem in Indonesia, one of the causes of which is due to poor basic sanitation conditions, the physical environment. This study uses a cross-sectional analytic methodology. This study aims to analyze the relationship between the physical quality of dug wells and the incidence of diarrhea in toddlers at Puskesmas IV, South Denpasar. The results of the study with the chisquare test obtained a p value = 0.000 <0.05. The better the physical quality of the water, the lower the incidence of diarrhea because the poor physical quality of water such as smelling, tasting, colored, cloudy and pH below 6.5 or above 8.5 results in many germs that cause disease, especially diarrhea caused by bacterial infections such as salmonella, shigella, E. Coli and yersina. The results of the chi square test show that the p value = 0.000 <0.05, which means that there is a significant relationship between the two variables. It can be concluded that there is a significant relationship between the physical quality of dug wells and the incidence of diarrhea in toddlers at Puskesmas IV Denpasar Selatan. Puskesmas IV Denpasar Selatan is expected to provide health education to the community who have dug wells in their residential area about maintaining cleanliness and sanitation regarding clean water. Keywords: Physica of DugWellQuality , Toddler Diarrhea HUBUNGAN KUALITASFISIK SUMUR GALI DENGAN KEJADIAN DIARE PADA PASIEN BALITA DI PUSKESMAS IV DENPASAR SELATAN TAHUN 2025 ABSTRAK Tingkat kesehatan masyarakat digunakan sebagai indikator untuk menilai keberhasilan program pembangunan di bidang kesehatan,dicapai melalui berbagai upaya melibatkan berbagai sektor. Penyakit diare merupakan salah satu penyakit yang berbasis lingkungan dan masalah kesehatan terbesar di Indonesia salah satu penyebabnya yang dikarenakan buruknya kondisi sanitasi dasar, lingkungan fisik.Penelitian ini menggunakan metodelogi cross sectional analytic. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis hubungan kualitas fisik sumur gali dengan kejadian diare pada pasien balita di Puskesmas IV Denpasar Selatan. Hasil penelitian dengan uji chi-square diperoleh nilai p = 0,000< 0,05. Semakin baik kualitasfisik air, angka kejadian diare menjadisemakin rendah sebab pada kualitas fisik air yang jelek seperti berbau, berasa, berwarna, keruh dan pH dibawah 6,5 atau diatas 8,5 mengakibatkan banyak terdapat kuman penyebab penyakit terutama diare infeksi bakteri seperti salmonella, shigella, E. Coli dan yersina. Hasil uji chi square menunjukkan bahwa nilai p = 0,000< 0,05, yang berarti terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara kedua variabel.Dapat disimpulkan terdapat hubungan yang signifikan kualitas fisik sumur gali dengan kejadian diare pada pasien balita di Puskesmas IV Denpasar Selatan. Diharapkan bagi Puskesmas IV Denpasar Selatan agar memberikan pendidikan kesehatan pada masyarakat yang memiliki sumur gali pada lingkungan area tempat tinggalnya tentang menjaga kebersihan dan sanitasi mengenai air bersih.
