Abstract

Physical Quality Study of Dug Well Water in Suwung Landfill Area, South Denpasar ABSTRACT Dug wells are one of the most commonly used well constructions by the community. The well water facilities in the Suwung TPA area are utilized for bathing, washing, feeding livestock, and other activities. Poor sanitation, leakage from household, laundry, industrial activities, and waste disposal sites can result in a decline in groundwater quality. This research method falls into the category of descriptive research. The aim of this study is to determine the physical quality (temperature, color, odor, turbidity, and TDS) of dug well water as well as the condition of dug well sanitation facilities in the Suwung TPA area. The examination results from 11 wells show that 1 well (9.1%) has a smell, 3 wells (27.3%) are discolored, and 4 wells (36.4%) do not meet the standards with TDS results exceeding 300 mg/l. Additionally, 6 wells (54.4%) do not meet the standards with turbidity results exceeding 3 NTU according to Minister of Health Regulation No. 2 of 2023. A total of 2 wells (18.2%) fall into the very high contamination risk category. Based on examination results, it can be concluded that the well water located near the TPA does not meet the standards for clean water quality physically. It is suggested for the community with dug wells to improve the construction facilities of the dug wells by providing a cover and regularly cleaning the surrounding area of the dug wells. Keywords: well, physical quality   Studi Kualitas Fisik Air Sumur Gali di Kawasan TPA Suwung Denpasar Selatan ABSTRAK Sumur gali adalah salah satu konstruksi sumur yang paling umum digunakan masyarakat. Fasilitas air sumur yang ada di Kawasan TPA Suwung dimanfaatkan untuk mandi, cuci, serta memberi makan ternak dan lainnya. Sanitasi yang buruk, rembesan dari air aktivitas rumah tangga, cucian, industri dan lokasi pembuangan sampah dapat mengakibatkan penurunan kualitas air tanah. Metode penelitian ini termasuk dalam kategori penelitian deskriptif. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kualitas fisik (suhu, warna, bau, kekeruhan dan TDS) air sumur gali serta keadaan sarana sanitasi sumur gali di Kawasan TPA Suwung. Hasil pemeriksaan dari 11 sumur menunjukkan sebanyak 1 sumur (9,1%) berbau, sebanyak 3 sumur (27,3%) berwarna dan 4 sumur (36,4%) tidak memenuhi syarat dengan hasil TDS lebih dari 300 mg/l, sebanyak 6 sumur (54,4%) tidak memenuhi syarat dengan hasil kekeruhan lebih dari 3 NTU berdasarkan Permenkes No 2 Tahun 2023. Sebanyak 2 sumur (18,2%) masuk kategori risiko kontaminasi amat tinggi. Berdasarkan hasil pemeiksaan dapat disimpulkan bahwa air sumur yang berada dekat disekitar TPA tidak memenuhi standar kualitas air bersih secara fisik. Adapun saran kepada masyarakat yang memiliki sumur gali untuk melakukan perbaikan sarana konstruksi sumur gali dengan membuatkan penutup serta rutin membersihkan lingkungan sarana sumur gali.
