Abstract
DESCRIPTION OF URIC ACID LEVELS IN ELDERLY IN BAJERA UTARA VILLAGE SELEMADEG SUB-DISTRICT ABSTRACT Background: Gout is a degenerative joint disease that is common in the elderly and can cause pain, impaired joint function, and decreased quality of life. Uric acid levels are influenced by various factors such as age, gender, blood pressure, body mass index (BMI), and diet. Objective: Knowing the description of uric acid levels in the elderly in North Bajera Village, Selemadeg District. Methods: This study used a descriptive design involving 40 elderly people aged 45-74 years. Samples were selected through cluster random sampling and purposive sampling techniques. Examination of uric acid levels was carried out by the Point of Care Testing (POCT) method using the Easy Touch GCU tool. Additional data collected included age, gender, blood pressure, and BMI. Results: A total of 77.5% of respondents had high uric acid levels, while 22.5% were in the normal category. Increased uric acid levels were found more in the elderly aged 60-74 years (52.5%), women (50%), with high blood pressure (30%), and BMI above normal (37.5%). Conclusion: Most of the elderly in Bajera Utara Village have high uric acid levels, especially in women, aged 60-74 years, with high blood pressure, and BMI above normal. Keywords: Elderly, Uric Acid, POCT GAMBARAN KADAR ASAM URAT PADA LANSIA DI DESA BAJERA UTARA KECAMATAN SELEMADEG ABSTRAK Latar Belakang: Asam urat merupakan penyakit sendi degeneratif yang umum terjadi pada lansia dan dapat menyebabkan nyeri, gangguan fungsi sendi, serta penurunan kualitas hidup. Kadar asam urat dipengaruhi oleh berbagai faktor seperti usia, jenis kelamin, tekanan darah, indeks massa tubuh (IMT), dan pola makan. Tujuan: Mengetahui gambaran kadar asam urat pada lansia di Desa Bajera Utara, Kecamatan Selemadeg. Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan desain deskriptif dengan melibatkan 40 lansia berusia 45–74 tahun. Sampel dipilih melalui teknik cluster random sampling dan purposive sampling. Pemeriksaan kadar asam urat dilakukan dengan metode Point of Care Testing (POCT) menggunakan alat Easy Touch GCU. Data tambahan yang dikumpulkan meliputi usia, jenis kelamin, tekanan darah, dan IMT. Hasil: Sebanyak 77,5% responden memiliki kadar asam urat tinggi, sementara 22,5% berada dalam kategori normal. Peningkatan kadar asam urat lebih banyak ditemukan pada lansia usia 60–74 tahun (52,5%), perempuan (50%), dengan tekanan darah tinggi (30%), dan IMT di atas normal (37,5%). Simpulan: Sebagian besar lansia di Desa Bajera Utara memiliki kadar asam urat tinggi, terutama pada perempuan, usia 60–74 tahun, dengan tekanan darah tinggi, dan IMT di atas normal.
