Abstract

OVERVIEW OF RANDOM BLOOD GLUCOSE LEVELS AMONG ELDERLY IN PENARUKAN VILLAGE, KERAMBITAN DISTRICT ABSTRACT Background: Elderly is someone who is 60 years old and above, normally has experienced various declines in abilities (capacity and capability), both physiological and psychological. Common health problems found in the elderly are diabetes mellitus. Purpose: The purpose of this study was to determine the description of random blood glucose levels in the elderly in Penarukan Village, Kerambitan District. Method: This research method uses a quantitative descriptive research method with a sample of 44 respondents obtained from the purposive sampling technique. Data collection was carried out with the results of the questionnaire and random blood glucose examination using the POCT method glucometer. Results: The results of the study of random blood glucose levels in the elderly in Penarukan Village, Kerambitan District showed that 59.1% of respondents were in the normal category and 40.9% of respondents were in the high category. Based on the characteristics, the results showed that 63.6% of respondents had no family history, 54.5% of respondents were female and 65.9% of respondents were in the 60 – 69 year age category. Conclusion: It was concluded that the random blood glucose levels in the elderly in Penarukan Village, Kerambitan District mostly had normal random blood glucose levels, namely 59.1%. Keyword : Elderly, Random blood glucose GAMBARAN KADAR GLUKOSA DARAH SEWAKTU PADA LANSIA DI DESA PENARUKAN KECAMATAN KERAMBITAN ABSTRAK Latar Belakang: Lansia merupakan seseorang yang berusia 60 tahun ke atas, normalnya sudah mengalami berbagai penurunan kemampuan (kapasitas dan kapabilitas), baik itu fisiologis dan psikologis. Masalah kesehatan yang umum ditemukan pada lansia yaitu diabetes mellitus. Tujuan: Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui gambaran kadar glukosa darah sewaktu pada lansia di Desa Penarukan, Kecamatan Kerambitan. Metode: Metode penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif dengan sampel sebanyak 44 responden yang didapat dari teknik purposive sampling. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan hasil kuisioner dan pemeriksaan glukosa darah sewaktu menggunakan alat glukometer metode POCT. Hasil: Hasil dari penelitian kadar glukosa darah sewaktu pada lansia di Desa Penarukan Kecamatan, Kerambitan menunjukkan hasil 59,1% responden kategori normal dan 40,9% responden kategori tinggi. Berdasarkan karakteristik menunjukkan hasil 63,6% responden tidak memiliki riwayat keluarga, 54,5% responden berjenis kelamin perempuan dan 65,9% responden kategori usia 60 – 69 tahun. Simpulan: Disimpulkan bahwa kadar glukosa darah sewaktu pada lansia di Desa Penarukan, Kecamatan Kerambitan sebagian besar memiliki kadar glukosa darah sewaktu yang normal yaitu 59,1%.
