Abstract

NURSING CARE FOR CHILDREN WITH INEFFECTIVE AIRWAY CLEARANCE DUE TO PNEUMONIA IN BAKAS ROOM AT KLUNGKUNG HOSPITAL IN 2025 ABSTRACT Pneumonia is an inflammation of the lung parenchyma characterized by typical symptoms such as fever, cough, and shortness of breath. One of the main problems associated with it is ineffective airway clearance. The purpose of this case report is to describe the implementation of nursing care for a patient with ineffective airway clearance due to pneumonia at Klungkung Regional Hospital. The sample in this case report is a child with pneumonia who met the inclusion criteria. The case report is presented descriptively to illustrate the nursing process comprehensively. Assessment results showed the main complaint was productive cough. The identified nursing diagnosis was ineffective airway clearance. The interventions provided included effective coughing exercises, airway management, respiratory monitoring, and education on respiratory rate measurement. Implementation was carried out over five days. The results of this case report showed improvement in effective coughing, reduced sputum production, decreased wheezing, decreased dyspnea, decreased orthopnea, reduced restlessness, improved respiratory rate, and improved breathing pattern. The conclusion drawn is that there was a significant improvement in the patient's airway condition. These results indicate that the nursing interventions provided were effective in improving airway clearance in patients with pneumonia. B DENGAN BERSIHAN JALAN NAPAS TIDAK EFEKTIF AKIBAT PNEUMONIA DI RUANG BAKAS RSUD KLUNGKUNG TAHUN 2025 ABSTRAK Pneumonia adalah peradangan pada parenkim paru yang memiliki gejala khas berupa demam, batuk dan sesak napas. Salah satu masalah utamanya adalah bersihan jalan napas tidak efektif. Tujuan laporan kasus ini adalah untuk mengetahui pelaksanaan asuhan keperawatan pada pasien dengan bersihan jalan napas tidak efektif akibat pneumonia di RSUD Klungkung. Sampel pada laporan kasus ini adalah seorang anak dengan pneumonia yang memenuhi kriteria inklusi. Laporan kasus disajikan secara deskriptif untuk menggambarkan proses keperawatan secara utuh. Hasil pengkajian menunjukkan keluhan utama berupa batuk berdahak. Diagnosis keperawatan yang diidentifikasi adalah bersihan jalan napas tidak efektif. Intervensi yang diberikan meliputi latihan batuk efektif, manajemen jalan napas, pemantauan respirasi dan edukasi pengukuran respirasi. Implementasi dilakukan selama 5 hari. Hasil laporan kasus ini menunjukkan bahwa batuk efektif meningkat, produksi spuntum menurun, mengi/wheezing menurun, dispnea menurun, ortopnea menurun, gelisah menurun, frekuensi napas membaik, pola napas membaik. Simpulan yang didapatkan yaitu terdapat perbaikan signifikan pada kondisi jalan napas pasien. Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa intervensi keperawatan yang diberikan efektif dalam meningkatkan bersihan jalan napas pada pasien dengan pneumonia.
