Abstract

Leydig cells synthesize androgen hormones required fot masculinization of the developing reproductive organs. The formation of these cells can be disrupted by exposure to endocrine disrupting chemical (EDC) since the prenatal period. The purpose of research, to prove the effect of administration of extract tempe to the rat Leydig cells formation. The Randomized Post-test Only Control Group Desing, performed on white female Wistar rats aged 12-13 weeks, weigh 190 to 200 grams, can to eat and drink normally. Large samples of 30 rats were divided into three groups, namely K, P1, P2. Research conducted at the Laboratory of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicene Udayana University in January to July 2016. Dam rats treated during perikonsepsi. Analysis of the data using a compyter, with a of 0.05. The average on the group K; P1; P2 respectively 8,075; 6,475; and 6,275. There is a mean difference Leydig cell count between groups (p 0.000). Conclusion: extract tempe containing Genistein could inhibit the formation of Leydig cells.
