Abstract

THE EFFECT OF NASAL CANNULA OXYGEN THERAPY TECHNIQUE ON REDUCING RESPIRATORY RATE IN CHILDREN WITH BRONCHOPNEUMONIA AT BALI MANDARA HOSPITAL IN 2025 ABSTRACT Bronchopneumonia is a secondary infection usually caused by Staphylococcus Aureus and Haemophilus Influenza bacteria that enter the upper respiratory tract, causing inflammation of the bronchi and alveoli. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of nasal cannula oxygen therapy techniques on reducing respiratory rates in children with bronchopneumonia at Bali Mandara Hospital. This research method uses pre-experimental with a one group pre-test and post-test approach. The subjects of the study were children with bronchopneumonia aged 1-12 years at Bali Mandara Hospital, totaling 32 samples using a non-probability technique, namely purposive sampling. The tools used were data collection sheets, SOPs, and stopwatches. The results of the bivariate analysis using the Wilcoxon test and obtained a p value of 0.000 (α <0.05). This shows that there is a decrease in respiratory rate due to nasal cannula oxygen therapy. The conclusion of this study is that there is an effect of nasal cannula oxygen therapy technique on reducing the respiratory rate in children with bronchopneumonia at Bali Mandara Regional Hospital in 2025. Keywords: bronchopneumonia, oxygen therapy, respiratory rate PENGARUH TEKNIK PEMBERIAN TERAPI OKSIGEN NASAL KANUL TERHADAP PENURUNAN RESPIRATORY RATE PADA ANAK DENGAN BRONKOPNEUMONIA DI RUMAH SAKIT BALI MANDARA TAHUN 2025 ABSTRAK Bronkopneumonia merupakan infeksi sekunder yang biasanya disebabkan oleh bakteri Stafilococcus Aureus dan Haemofilus Influenza yang masuk ke saluran pernafasan bagian atas sehingga terjadi peradangan pada bronkus dan alveolus. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh teknik pemberian terapi oksigen nasal kanul terhadap penurunan respiratory rate pada anak dengan bronkopneumonia di RSUD Bali Mandara. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan pre-eksperimental dengan pendekatan one group pre-test and post-test. Subjek penelitian adalah anak dengan bronkopneumonia usia 1-12 tahun di RSUD Bali Mandara yang berjumlah 32 orang sampel dengan menggunakan teknik non probability yaitu purposive sampling. Alat yang digunakan adalah lembar pengumpulan data, SOP, dan stopwatch. Hasil analisis bivariat dengan menggunakan uji wilcoxon dan didapatkan nilai p value 0,000 (α<0,05). Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat penurunan respiratory rate akibat melakukan terapi oksigen nasal kanul. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah terdapat pengaruh teknik pemberian terapi oksigen nasal kanul terhadap penurunan respiratory rate pada anak dengan bronkopneumonia di RSUD Bali Mandara Tahun 2025.
