Abstract

Cancer is a chronic disease that has a major impact on patients' quality of life, including extreme fatigue known as Cancer-Related Fatigue (CRF). One approach that can be used to reduce the impact of fatigue is the application of appropriate coping mechanisms. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between coping mechanisms and cancer-related fatigue in patients at Bali Mandara Hospital in 2025. The research method used was Quantitative non-experimental with descriptive correlational research design with a cross-sectional approach. A sample of 87 cancer patients was selected through purposive sampling technique. Data were analyzed using the Person Correlation test. The average coping mechanism score was 67.67 while the average cancer-related fatigue score was 54.10. The Person Correlation results obtained a p=0.000 value with an α value of 0.05, and a correlation coefficient (r) value of -0.441. There is a moderate relationship between coping mechanisms and cancer-related fatigue in cancer patients at Bali Mandara Hospital in 2025. Advice to nurses, especially health practitioners at Bali Mandara Hospital is to provide counseling to patients, especially cancer patients, about good coping mechanism strategies to overcome fatigue in cancer patients Kanker merupakan penyakit kronis yang berdampak besar terhadap kualitas hidup pasien, termasuk kelelahan ekstrem yang dikenal sebagai Cancer-Related Fatigue (CRF). Salah satu pendekatan yang dapat digunakan untuk mengurangi dampak kelelahan adalah penerapan mekanisme koping yang tepat. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan antara mekanisme koping dengan kelelahan pada pasien kanker di RSUD Bali Mandara tahun 2025. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Kuantitatif non-eksperimental dengan desain penelitian deskriptif korelasional dengan pendekatan cross-sectional. Sampel sebanyak 87 pasien kanker dipilih melalui teknik purposive sampling. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji Korelasi Person. Rata-rata skor mekanisme koping adalah 67,67 sedangkan rata-rata skor kelelahan terkait kanker adalah 54,10. Hasil Korelasi Person memperoleh nilai p=0,000 dengan nilai α yaitu 0,05, dan nilai koefisien korelasi (r) yaitu -0,441. Ada hubungan yang sedang antara mekanisme koping dengan kelelahan terkait kanker pada pasien kanker di RSUD Bali Mandara tahun 2025. Saran kepada perawat khususnya praktisi kesehatan di RSUD Bali Mandara adalah memberikan penyuluhan kepada pasien khususnya pasien kanker tentang strategi mekanisme koping yang bagus untuk mengatasi kelelahan pada pasien kanker.
