Abstract

THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN HUSBAND SUPPORT AND BODY IMAGE IN BREAST CANCER PATIENTS UNDERGOING CHEMOTHERAPY AT BALI MANDARA HOSPITAL IN 2025 ABSTRACT Breast cancer is a disease characterized by uncontrolled cell growth, which often leads to the formation of malignant neoplasms. This study aims to determine the relationship between husband's support and body image among breast cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy at RSUD Bali Mandara in 2025. This research employed a quantitative non-experimental method with a descriptive correlational design and a cross-sectional approach. The sample consisted of 52 breast cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy at the Cancer Service Center of RSUD Bali Mandara, selected through purposive sampling and based on inclusion criteria. The collected data were analyzed using the Pearson Correlation test. The respondents' characteristics showed that the average age was 51.52 years; the majority had completed senior high school education (61.5%), were unemployed/housewives (51.9%), and were mostly in stage II of breast cancer (51.9%). The average body image score was 24.92, and the average husband's support score was 35.71. The Pearson Correlation test resulted in a p-value of 0.000 (α = 0.05) and a correlation coefficient (r) of 0.633. There is a strong and significant relationship between husband's support and body image among breast cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy at RSUD Bali Mandara in 2025. Keywords : husband support; body image; breast cancer; chemotherapy HUBUNGAN DUKUNGAN SUAMI DENGAN CITRA TUBUH PADA PASIEN KANKER PAYUDARA YANG MENJALANI KEMOTERAPI DI RSUD BALI MANDARA TAHUN 2025 ABSTRAK Kanker payudara adalah penyakit yang ditandai oleh pertumbuhan sel yang tidak terbatas sehingga sering kali membentuk neoplasma malignan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan dukungan suami dengan citra tubuh pada pasien kanker payudara yang menjalani kemoterapi di RSUD Bali Mandara tahun 2025. Metode penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif non-eksperimental dengan desain penelitian deskriptif korelasional dengan pendekatan crossectional. Sampel penelitian merupakan pasien kanker payudara yang melakukan pengobatan kemoterapi di Gedung Layanan Kanker RSUD Bali Mandara sebanyak 52 orang yang dipilih dengan purposive sampling serta memenuhi kriteria inklusi. Data yang terkumpul diuji secara statistik dengan uji Pearson Correlation. Data karakteristik responden ditemukan usia rata-rata responden adalah 51,52 tahun, mayoritas responden memiliki tingkat pendidikan terakhir SMA sebanyak 32 responden (61,5%), responden tidak bekerja/IRT sebanyak 27 responden (51,9%) dan sebagian besar berada pada stadium II kanker payudara sebanyak 27 responden (51,9%). Rata-rata skor citra tubuh responden adalah 24,92 dan rata-rata skor dukungan suami responden adalah 35,71. Hasil uji korelasi Pearson Correlation memperoleh nilai p = 0,000 dengan nilai α yaitu 0,05, dan koefisien korelasi (r) yaitu 0,633. Ada hubungan yang kuat antara dukungan suami dengan citra tubuh pada pasien kanker payudara yang menjalani kemoterapi di RSUD Bali Mandara tahun 2025.
