Abstract

The Relationship Between Chemotherapy Side Effects and Body Image Disturbance in Cancer Patientsat RSUD Bali Mandara in 2025 ABSTRACT Chemotherapy is one of the main treatments for cancer patients, but the side effects often affect the psychological aspects and body image of patients. This study aims to determine the relationship between the side effects of chemotherapy and body image disturbance in cancer patients at Bali Mandara Hospital in 2025. The method used is quantitative non-experimental, correlational design with a cross-sectional approach. The number of samples of 88 cancer patients was selected through purposive sampling technique. The instruments used were the Chemotherapy Symptom Assessment Scale (C-SAS) questionnaire to measure the side effects of chemotherapy and the Body Image Scale (BIS) to assess body image disturbance. The results showed that most of the study subjects had severe chemotherapy side effects, namely 71 people (80.7%) and with negative body image disturbances as many as 80 people (90.9%). There is a significant relationship of 0.000 (p <0.05) and the correlation coefficient value (r) is -0.724, so it is said that there is a strong relationship with a negative direction, which means that the more severe the side effects experienced, the more likely the patient is to experience body image disturbance. Keywords: chemotherapy , body image disturbance, cancer Hubungan Efek Samping Kemoterapi Dengan Gangguan CitraTubuh Pada Pasien Kanker Di RSUD Bali Mandara Tahun 2025 ABSTRAK Kemoterapi adalah salah satu pengobatan utama pada pasien kanker, namun efek samping yang ditimbulkan seringkali memengaruhi aspek psikologis dan citra tubuh pasien. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara efek samping kemoterapi dengan gangguan citra tubuh pada pasien kanker di RSUD Bali Mandara Tahun 2025. Metode yang digunakan yaitu kuantitatif non-eksperimental, desain bersifat korelasional dengan pendekatan cross-sectional. Jumlah sampel sebanyak 88 pasien kanker dipilih melalui teknik purposive sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan kuesioner Chemotherapy Symptom Assessment Scale (C-SAS) untuk mengukur efek samping kemoterapi dan Body Image Scale (BIS) untuk menilai gangguan citra tubuh . hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar subjek penelitian memiliki efek samping kemoterapi berat yaitu sebanyak 71 orang (80,7%) dan dengan gangguan citra tubuh negatif sebanyak 80 orang (90,9%). Terdapat hubungan yang signifikan sebesar 0,000 (p<0,05) dan nilai koefisien korelasi (r) yaitu -0,724 maka dikatakan terdapat hubungan yang kuat dengan arah negatif, yang artinya semakin berat efek samping yang dialami, semakin besar kemungkinan pasien mengalami gangguan citra tubuh.
