Abstract

NURSING CARE FOR CHILD R WITH INEFFECTIVE AIRWAY CLEARANCE DUE TO ASTHMA IN THE PICU ROOM OF MANGUSADA HOSPITAL IN 2025 ABSTRACT Asthma is a chronic disease that affects the airways and is common in children. One of its main problems is ineffective airway clearance caused by bronchospasm, excessive mucus production, and mucosal edema. This report aims to describe the nursing care for a child with ineffective airway clearance due to asthma in the PICU of RSD Mangusada. The report uses a descriptive method on a 6-year-old child who met the inclusion criteria, through the implementation of nursing care. Assessment revealed complaints of shortness of breath, ineffective cough, excessive sputum, wheezing, and dry rhonchi. The established nursing diagnosis was ineffective airway clearance (D.0001). The care plan was implemented over 5x6 hours, including effective cough exercises, airway management, respiratory monitoring, and asthma management. Evaluation showed improvement in airway clearance, marked by more effective coughing, reduced sputum and adventitious breath sounds, as well as improved respiratory rate and pattern. The report concludes that appropriate nursing interventions can improve airway clearance in children with asthma. It is recommended that nurses apply structured and consistent interventions based on clinical guidelines to enhance the quality of care, particularly for pediatric asthma patients with ineffective airway clearance. R DENGAN BERSIHAN JALAN NAPAS TIDAK EFEKTIF AKIBAT ASMA DI RUANG PICU RSD MANGUSADA TAHUN 2025 ABSTRAK Asma adalah penyakit kronis yang menyerang saluran napas dan sering terjadi pada anak-anak. Salah satu masalah utamanya adalah bersihan jalan napas tidak efektif akibat bronkospasme, produksi mukus berlebih, dan edema mukosa. Tujuan laporan ini adalah untuk mengatahui asuhan keperawatan pada anak dengan bersihan jalan napas tidak efektif akibat asma di Ruang PICU RSD Mangusada. Laporan ini disusun dengan metode deskriptif terhadap satu anak berusia 6 tahun yang memenuhi kriteria inklusi, melalui pelaksanaan asuhan keperawatan. Hasil pengkajian menunjukkan keluhan berupa sesak napas, batuk tidak efektif, sputum berlebih, wheezing dan ronkhi kering. Diagnosis keperawatan yang ditegakkan adalah bersihan jalan napas tidak efektif (D.0001). Rencana keperawatan diidentifikasi selama 5x6 jam, dengan implementasi keperawatan meliputi latihan batuk efektif, manajemen jalan napas, pemantauan respirasi, dan manajemen asma. Evaluasi menunjukkan bersihan jalan napas meningkat, dengan kriteria hasil batuk efektif meningkat, produksi sputum dan bunyi napas tambahan menurun, serta frekuensi napas dan pola napas membaik. Simpulan laporan ini adalah asuhan keperawatan yang tepat dapat meningkatkan efektivitas bersihan jalan napas pada anak dengan asma. Diharapkan agar perawat menerapkan intervensi keperawatan secara konsisten dan terstruktur sesuaidengan panduan praktik keperawatan untuk meningkatkan kualitas pelayanan khususnya pada anak asma dengan masalah bersihan jalan napas tidak efektif.
