Abstract

RELATIONSHIP OF FASTING BLOOD GLUCOSE LEVELS AND TRIGLYCERIDE LEVELS IN PATIENTS WITH TYPE 2 DIABETES MELLITUS AT KARANGASEM HOSPITAL ABSTRACT Diabetes mellitus is a metabolic disorder that arises from the inhibition of insulin production by the pancreas. Uncontrolled diabetes mellitus can cause complications. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between fasting blood glucose levels and triglyceride levels in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus at Karangasem Hospital. This study used an observational analytic method with a cross-sectional design. The sampling technique used non probability sampling in the form of purposive sampling with a total sample of 40 patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus at Karangasem Hospital who had fasted for 8-12 hours. Data were analyzed univariately and bivariately using the Pearson correlation test with a probability value of <0.05%. Pearson correlation test results showed a relationship between fasting blood glucose levels and triglyceride levels. Based on the Pearson correlation table, Sig (2-tailed) = 0.004 (p value <0.05) which means there is a relationship between fasting blood glucose levels and triglyceride levels in type 2 diabetes mellitus at Karangasem Hospital with a Pearson correlation value of 0.449 with a moderate correlation degree and positive relationship direction. Keywords: Type 2 diabetes mellitus, Fasting blood glucose, Triglycerides HUBUNGAN KADAR GLUKOSA DARAH PUASA DENGAN KADAR TRIGLISERIDA PADA PASIEN DIABETES MELITUS TIPE 2 DI RSUD KARANGASEM ABSTRAK Terhambatnya produksi insulin oleh pankreas dapat menyebabkan diabetes melitus. Bila kadar glukosa darah tidak terjaga pada pasien diabetes melitus akan menimbulkan berbagai penyakit tambahan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengetahui Hubungan Kadar Glukosa Darah Puasa dan Kadar Trigliserida pada Pasien Diabetes Melitus Tipe 2 di RSUD Karangasem. Studi ini mempergunakan metode analitik observasional serta jenis rancangan cross-sectional, Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan non probability sampling berupa purposive sampling dengan jumlah sampel 40 orang pasien diabetes melitus tipe 2 di RSUD Karangasem yang berpuasa 8 hingga 12 jam. Data dianalisis secara univariat dan bivariat dengan uji korelasi pearson serta nilai p <0.05%. Hasil penelitian uji korelasi pearson didapatkan adanya hubungan antara kadar glukosa darah puasa dengan kadar trigliserida. Berdasarkan tabel korelasi pearson, tampak Sig (2-tailed) = 0,004 (p value <0,05) yang berarti terdapat hubungan antara kadar glukosa darah puasa dengan kadar trigliserida pada diabetes melitus tipe 2 di RSUD Karangasem didapatkan nilai korelasi pearson 0,449 yang berarti terdapat hubungan derajat korelasi sedang dan arah hubungan positif.
