Abstract

NURSING CARE INEFECTIVE AIRWAY CLEARANCE FOR TUBERCULOSIS PATIENT WITH SIMPLE AROMATHERAPY INHALATION OF PEPPERMINT ESSENTIAL OIL AT ISOLATION JEPUN ROOM REGIONAL PUBLIC HOSPITAL BALI MANDARA IN 2024 I Gusti Ayu Sarah Putri Devayanthi. Program Studi Profesi Ners Poltekkes Kemenkes Denpasar Email: sarahputri147@gmail.com ABSTRACT Tuberculosis is an infectious disease caused by the Mycobacterium tuberculosis germ. Based on data from Bali Mandara Hospital, the number of patients hospitalized with Tuberculosis has increased. The total number of patients hospitalized with Tuberculosis in 2022 reached 28 patients, while in 2023 it reached 48 patients. This study aims to determine nursing care for ineffective airway clearance with simple inhalation of peppermint essential oil aromatherapy in Tuberculosis patients. The results of the nursing assessment found that the patient complained of a cough accompanied by phlegm that was difficult to remove, felt tight, the patient seemed unable to cough accompanied by excess sputum that was retained, ronkhi breathing sounds were heard, respiratory frequency was 28x/minute, irregular breathing patterns. The nursing diagnosis formulated was ineffective airway clearance associated with retained secretions. The nursing plan refers to the SLKI guidelines with improved airway clearance outcomes and SIKI with the main interventions of airway management, effective cough training, and respiration monitoring, as well as simple inhalation innovation interventions of peppermint essential oil aromatherapy. Nursing implementation is carried out in accordance with the nursing plan that has been determined for 3x24 hours. Nursing evaluation shows that the goal is achieved as evidenced by the patient saying that coughing up phlegm can be removed, not feeling shortness of breath (dyspnea decreases), the patient appears to be able to cough effectively, sputum production decreases, ronkhi breathing sounds decrease, breathing frequency improves 20x/minute, breathing patterns improve. Program Studi Profesi Ners Poltekkes Kemenkes Denpasar Email: sarahputri147@gmail.com ABSTRAK Tuberkulosis merupakan penyakit menular yang disebabkan oleh kuman Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Berdasarkan data RSUD Bali Mandara jumlah pasien rawat inap dengan Tuberkulosis mengalami peningkatan. Total pasien yang dirawat inap dengan Tuberkulosis tahun 2022 mencapai 28 pasien, sedangkan tahun 2023 mencapai 48 pasien. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui asuhan keperawatan bersihan jalan napas tidak efektif dengan inhalasi sederhana aromaterapi essential oil peppermint pada pasien Tuberkulosis. Hasil pengkajian keperawatan ditemukan pasien mengeluh batuk disertai dahak yang sulit dikeluarkan, merasa sesak, pasien tampak tidak mampu batuk disertai adanya sputum berlebih yang tertahan, terdengar suara napas ronkhi, frekuensi pernapasan 28x/menit, pola napas irreguler. Diagnosis keperawatan yang dirumuskan adalah bersihan jalan napas tidak efektif berhubungan dengan sekresi yang tertahan. Rencana keperawatan mengacu pada pedoman SLKI dengan luaran bersihan jalan napas meningkat dan SIKI dengan intervensi utama manajemen jalan napas, latihan batuk efektif, dan pemantauan respirasi, serta intervensi inovasi inhalasi sederhana aromaterapi essential oil peppermint. Implementasi keperawatan dilakukan sesuai dengan rencana keperawatan yang telah ditetapkan selama 3x24 jam. Evaluasi keperawatan menunjukkan tujuan tercapai dibuktikan dengan pasien mengatakan batuk berdahak sudah dapat dikeluarkan, tidak merasa sesak (dispnea menurun), pasien tampak sudah mampu batuk efektif, produksi sputum menurun, suara napas ronkhi menurun, frekuensi napas membaik 20x/menit, pola napas membaik.
