Abstract
DESCRIPTION OF BLOOD GLUCOSE LEVELS WHEN DRINKING ALCOHOLIC TUAK IN DAWAN KALER VILLAGE, KLUNGKUNG DISTRICT ABSTRACT The habit of consuming alcoholic beverages has a lot of effect on the normal value of blood glucose. Consuming alcoholic beverages containing excessive carbohydrates will increase blood glucose levels, because pancreatic beta cells are unable to compensate for increased insulin resistance. The research objective was to determine blood glucose levels when drinking palm wine in Dawan Kaler Village, Klungkung Regency. The research method used is descriptive research with simple random sampling technique. The samples used were 43 samples obtained through filling out questionnaires and checking blood glucose levels using the POCT method. The results of the research on blood glucose levels at the time found that there were 26 samples (61%) with high blood sugar results, based on age characteristics as many as 17 people (40%) at the age of 46-65 years, based on the duration of consumption, 32 people (74%) were in the > 5 years, and based on the amount of palm wine consumed, there were 25 people (58%) in the category of moderate drinkers. Conclusion: The picture of blood glucose levels when drinking palm wine in Dawan Kaler Village shows that most of the values of high blood glucose levels are obtained.
