Abstract
Kindergarten student is one of the groups that is susceptive to dental disease. In consequence, it is required to provide particular efforts to prevent early dental disease. Particular efforts could be in the form of health promotive and preventive eforts on dental health care. Parents or family takes significant role to change children’s behavior. Community service conducted in Kencana Kumara Mas Kindergarten in May and June 2021, which examined on 64 respondents (kindergarten students’ parents/family). This study administered dental health counseling method and guiding on how to brush your teeth properly. Respondents’ demeanor includes knowledge, attitude and behavior measured by questionnaire that distributed in advance and after the intervention. The result of this study before intervention is: the average of respondent knowledge: 9.2, attitude: 9.09, and skill: 5.82. The result after the intervention obtains the average of respondents’ knowledge 9.56, attitude: 9.77 and skill: 5.89. Total respondents who have examined before the intervention and obtained the value below of the average; knowledge: 36 respondents (56.25%), attitude: 28 respondents (43.75%) and skill: 6 respondents (9.38%). After the intervention, the value obtained by the respondents which is below the average; knowledge: 15 respondents (23.4%), attitude: 3 respondents (4.7%) and skill: 1 respondent (1.6%). To conclude, the dental health promotive and preventive behavior in Kencana Kumara Mas Kindergarten means there is significant increase of the average on knowledge, attitude and skill of kindergarten parents or family and decrease in the number of parents or family who scored below the average.
