Abstract
AN OVERVIEW OF TOTAL CHOLESTEROL LEVELS IN ACTIVE SMOKERS IN BR LAWAK, BELOK/SIDAN VILLAGE, PETANG DISTRICT, BADUNG REGENCY ABSTRACT Cigarettes are one of the national problems and has even become an international problem that has existed since the industrial revolution. Cigarettes are one of the biggest contributors to preventable causes of death in society. Smoking is one of the factors that increase cholesterol levels in the blood. The purpose of this study was to describe the total cholesterol levels in active smokers in Br. Lawak, Belok/Sidan Village, Petang District, Badung Regency. This research uses a descriptive type of research conducted in April-June 2022 in Br. Lawak, Belok/Sidan Village, based on the population in Br. Lawak as many as 105 people, 45 respondents (42%) were sampled and obtained using purposive sampling technique. Examination of total cholesterol levels was carried out using the POCT (Point Of Care Testing) method using capillary blood. The results showed that active smokers with normal total cholesterol levels were 39 respondents (87%), the high limit was 4 respondents (9%), and the height was 2 respondents (4%). Higher total cholesterol levels suffered more in the age range of 17-25 and 46-55 years and smoking duration for >10 years with the number of cigarettes consumed >15 cigarettes and doing physical activity infrequently and often. LAWAK, DESA BELOK/SIDAN, KECAMATAN PETANG, KABUPATEN BADUNG ABSTRAK Rokok adalah salah satu permasalahan nasional bahkan telah menjadi permasalahan internasional yang telah ada sejak revolusi industri. Rokok merupakan salah satu penyumbang terbesar penyebab kematian yang sulit dicegah dalam masyarakat. Kebiasaan merokok merupakan salah satu faktor peningkatan kadar kolesterol dalam darah. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui gambaran kadar kolesterol total pada perokok aktif di Br. Lawak, Desa Belok/Sidan, Kecamatan Petang, Kabupaten Badung. Pada penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penilitian deskriptif yang dilakukan pada bulan April-Juni 2022 di Br. Lawak, Desa Belok/Sidan, berdasarkan populasi di Br.Lawak sebanyak 105 orang diambil sampel 45 responden (42%) yang diperoleh dengan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Pemeriksaan kadar kolesterol total dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode POCT (Point Of Care Testing) dengan menggunakan darah kapiler. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perokok aktif dengan kadar kolesterol total normal sebanyak 39 responden (87%), batas tinggi sebanyak 4 responden (9%), dan tinggi sebanyak 2 responden (4%). Kadar kolesterol total tinggi lebih banyak diderita pada rentang usia 17-25 dan 46-55 tahun dan lama merokok selama >10 tahun dengan jumlah rokok yang dikonsumsi >15 batang serta melakukan aktifitas fisik jarang dan sering.
