Abstract
Breast cancer is an abnormal growth of breast tissue. The cause of breast cancer is not known for certain, women who are included in the high risk group for breast cancer include family history of breast cancer, age, history of previous cancer, history of benign breast tumors, age of early menarche and late menopause. BSE is one of the effective ways for early detection of breast cancer. Based on a preliminary study conducted in Serampingan Village in 2021, there were five breast cancer incidences. The purpose of this study was to describe the level of WUS knowledge about BSE in Serampingan Village. This type of research is descriptive research, with cluster sampling technique. The sample is 82 people. Collecting data by using a questionnaire. This research was conducted on April 30-May 10, 2022. The results showed that the level of knowledge of WUS regarding BSE 55 people (67.1%) had good knowledge, 26 people (31.7%) had sufficient knowledge and one person (1, 2%) have less knowledge. In conclusion, most of the WUS are in their early and late adulthood, most of the WUS with the educational background of SMP, SMA/SMK and all of them with Diploma/Bachelor education have good knowledge of BSE. Most of WUS who are working, who are still in school/college and half of WUS who are not working have good knowledge of BSE.
