Abstract

Bacteriological Quality of Spring waters in Nagasepaha Village, Buleleng District, Buleleng Regency ABSTRACT Background, the function of water, which is very important for life, really needs to know the content of good water quality. The springs used as drinking water by the people of Nagasepaha Village, Buleleng District, Buleleng Regency do not go through a processing process such as cooking. This can cause disease. Purpose this study was to determine the content of Coliform and Escherichia coli bacteria in springs. As well as comparing the results of the bacteriological test with Permenkes No. 492/Menkes/Per/IV/2010.Methods, This research uses descriptive method with saturated sampling technique by using all springs in Nagasepaha Village (10 springs) as samples. Laboratory examination using the MPN method (variety 333) by going through 3 stages of testing, namely the presumptive test, the confirmed test, and the complete test. Results, In the study, from 10 samples of springs, all samples were positive for coliform bacteria and Escherichia coli bacteria. Conclusion, the results of the bacteriological quality test from 10 samples of springs in Nagasepaha Village, Buleleng District, Buleleng Regency, all samples contained Coliform and Escherichia coli bacteria contamination, so they did not meet the drinking water quality requirements as regulated in Minister of Health Regulation No. 492/Menkes/Per/IV/2010. Keywords: Water quality, Coliform, Escherichia coli.
